I feel like we'll never pinpoint the exact event (aside from a volcanic eruption, meteor strike, nuclear war, etc.) that will tip us over the edge. Like how a frog will get boiled alive in a pot if you bring the water up to temperature slowly, one day, humanity will wake up and discover that we can't live on this planet anymore. The headline is kind of click bait. I started reading the actual article. It's quite lengthy. Bottom line is that they are doing some serious research to try and figure out what is going on, but the end of the world is not at our doorstep.

Noooooo. So, made the mistake of showing up in the field for a half day prior to my drive upstate...
Me: (arrives) "I'm heading upstate today, I want to be out of here by 1PM the latest."
RE: "Great that you're here. I have a meeting I have to go to this afternoon. Put your eight hours in and just head up this evening."
Me: "Well, I wanted to avoid traffic..."
RE: "Nah, just put a full day in first."
Me: (inside)![]()

Wonder if @Sean L will have been shoveled out today yet? Hope he’s had power and enjoyed his snow day.

Did you enjoy your winter wonderland?
Ah yes, discrimination takes all forms. It's why they plow the Upper East Side first.well my neighborhood has not been snowplowed yet. It's becausewe're a blue collar predominately Latino neighborhooda side street.
Using 4Hi I'm able to get out on to the main road pretty easily.

That worked in my favor as a kid. School bus would sometimes run on "plowed roads only". I lived on a dead-end road way out in the middle of nowhere. We were the last to get plowed. (Never mind that my parents had 4x4 and went to work...)Ah yes, discrimination takes all forms. It's why they plow the Upper East Side first.
Do you have any photos at least?![]()

Awesome except for the loss of the historic building. Here we go, This is Sunday afternoon when the snow stopped enough to venture outside... You can see in the background my neighbor's van in the ditch. (made it one house down)

Unfortunately, one of our historic buildings collapsed due to the storm. This was the Nissen Wagon Works building that predated the merger of Winston and Salem into one city.

Yep, its very disappointing. It might not have had the best upkeep I'm afraid. Since the Nissen corporate office building has long since been converted to apartments and horse drawn wagons have been obsolete for well over a century... I'm not sure who owns that building.Awesome except for the loss of the historic building.
