Being on the beach on 12/25 is pretty friggin awesome!. Been there, done that, always willing to do it again.
Something about wearing lounge pants and a sweatshirt all day, while eating cookies and croissants around a fireplace just does it for me.

We also celebrate with just the four of us since we're so removed from the rest of the family. It's nice.

Went to pick up one of the Company trucks at my dealer... swung by and checked out the MOAB they had. I might need to get a hold of those tires when my current ones wear out, lol.

Yep, thats a good way to jack up my monthly payment from "comfortable" to "should I eat or should I pay for the Jeep"....

There's a $13,000 difference between a MOAB and my 2 option Sahara, lol (not counting any depreciation).

To follow up, there was only a $7,000 difference between Gabrielle (Sport with most of the available options) vs. a Rubicon incarnation of Gabrielle (some extra options). I was teetering on the fence for a while there, but thought that the Rubi wouldn't leave enough breathing room in case lease rates did not treat me well. :movember:

Two things happened since I ordered - the lease rates were ridiculously favorable (I think the residual was 71% or so), and I was being underpaid by about 8% - payroll caught their mistake in an audit and made me whole. So, the cost to lease was lower than anticipated, and my available funds were greater than anticipated - which means a Rubicon would have likely been feasible. :asshat:

Coming back to the initial comment, that's nuts that a MOAB is that much more than a Sahara in my opinion. Especially when you consider that it's not *as* capable as a Rubicon.

Well It turns out you have a lot more breathing room than you would have initially thought with the lower rate and your corrected pay. :)

So now you CAN option out a Sahara to get up to the same price as a MOAB, as all it really is is an appearance package on a fully loaded out Sahara. I mean really the only thing you can't get on the Sahara out of the factory that you can on the MOAB is the Steel Bumper group, the Rubicon hood and the specific wheels and M/T tires. I think the only options you can get on the MOAB is whether or not you want Just the painted hard top, Dual tops or the Sky top. Everything else is included in the package.

For that kind of money, I'd opt for the Rubi personally. Jeep threw a wrench into my plans by not offering a 2 door Sahara for the JL. That had been my plan for the longest time.

Now, my plan is to (gradually) add Rubicon-esque bits to Gabrielle as I am able. But first, I think I'm going to work on my student debt - the monthly payment on that is more than my lease! :piggybank::asshat::movember:

Must be nice to have rational thought. Something of which I have no knowledge. :)
