Seriously, they are showing up everywhere, give it a few more days and I bet dealers will have a bunch.
I hope so, I ordered a 2 door so I know it'll take longer but around the LA area there's only about a dozen as of yesterday. Mostly Sports with most options at 40k a couple Rubicon and 3 Saharas I think. Sort of makes me wish I had ordered a JLU but I'm just a sucker for 2drs

OldGuyNewJeep: aside from your point on haggling, I completely respect your arguments.

They may or not be my or other people's arguments but we all value things differently--and that's the way it's suppose to be.

That said, it seems as if some of the volume discount sellers make their terms known before sale and stick to them: so haggling won't be an issue. But they're also not going to spend time selling us: they presume that process has already occurred and are there to, for all intents and purposes, simply take our orders like someone might at a fast food restaurant, offering little guidance, assuming you've already done the research on what you want.

(Readers making correlation between fast food quality and Wrangler quality are not intended.)

I'm glad though that you compensated the dealer who took the time with you. Acts like yours incentivize customer service for the rest of us.

Oh, and OldGuyNewJeep: you're only as old as you feel (says one old guy to the other), which I think you're new Jeep will help in addressing feels of mortality.;)

Life is too short to waste time not also enjoying the process of getting from point A to B: something I think a Wrangler does.

Because it's not like the old days when it was a little bolt on hitch and 3' of wire. The tow package includes the four auxillary switches on the dash now.
Yeah true, didnt think about that.

Agree to both of your points.

I'd be shocked if any dealer in CT is going to offer 5% below invoice, anyway, so the first point is moot for me. Let's face it, there are just too many rich people in lower Fairfield County willing to pay top dollar and beyond.

I wouldn't run from my dealer to save a couple of bucks, anyway. He put in the work to get my business, and we built a relationship. I wouldn't sell my integrity for $1,800. Also, when something goes wrong (and it will - this is a 1st run of a redesign, after all) I'll be relieved to have a person to call for help getting FCA warranty claims approved.

If you get a good side shot, please do post! That is almost exactly the configuration I'm leaning toward so would love to see a full on side shot before pulling the trigger

Total agreement....and living in neighboring Westchester County I can empathize.

Interesting though: there's money to be made in volume selling, even with dealers in relatively established areas with money. Koons outside of DC would be an example.

On the other hand, you and I live in an area where some hedge fund manager's most valuable resource is his/her time, not money. They're willing to shell out MSRP+ for his/her kid's (not even their own) fully loaded Wrangler. Dealerships would be wise in such venues to compromise little on price.

Sorry Aaron this was just Jeep demo for the region, the Jeep reps took them and are on their way to other areas to show them off.

Tacoma Jeep just emailed me and said they had a Billet Silver fully loaded JLU Rubicon coming in at $51,750. It was an automatic, prox keyless entry, LEDs, Alpine, 8.4" screen, remote start, steel bumpers, hardtop, safety package pretty much every option. I can't afford it but I definitely want to go poke around in it.

Fitzpatrick’s in Ansonia, CT has a Rubi (demo/trainer - not for sale) in their showroom. They sent me some pictures (I have a 2 door on order with them.)

As an OP said, if you're coming in to the dealer to place an order, the sale is already made. As much as salesmen like to sell, they also enjoy taking a break now & then to simply fill out any necessary paperwork. Plus, if they sense that you are somewhat cool and aren't going to be a bother, then they can relax and just deal with the order.

For a high volume dealer, there's no reason for games. The price is the price - which they purposely position just slightly under-market - to keep the order line moving. (The fast-food analogy was very apropos.) Our JLUR came in @ a MSRP of $50.2, FWP (invoice) of $47.3, of which they knocked off 2%. I'm not certain they will extend this to everyone - it might depend on the dealer's mood.

In my case, I swung by mid-week in December when I knew they would be slow. I talked to the manager for a bit about the custom order process - very relaxed - without a lot of pestering. Shot the sh!t a with the other sales guys in the boiler room, then headed on out. I brought my wife by a week later to test-drive the JKUR, again no pressure, no hassle. Finally, after the holidays were over, we went by last week to place our order for the JLUR.

Once more, no BS, no pestering; I had my notes and print-off from the on-line configurator, so we went right down the list. He got my order placed, I said see you in 2 mos, and he got back to all his other paperwork sitting on his desk.

Pretty refreshing finally see a Sport S after only seeing Rubicon’s and Sahara’s online. Looks like they got a black and a white Sport S in today. Both bare bones with only the option for the 7 inch infotainment and convenience group.

I’m waiting for them to come in with a Sahara so I can compare side by side in person to see if the price difference is truly worth it for me (which I don’t think it’ll be but can’t hurt to check anyway)
