I was WRONG!!!!! I went back into the "historical documents" and found this:
(As an aside, neener-neener autocorrected to Mesmer-Mesmer for me. Which makes even less sense. After that, it corrected to neener-berber. Apparently my phones been smoking something)

All ya'll were correct. I'm the dorked one. Imagine that.....

Hey @Sean L, I made another batch of tea and this time I used 2/3 cup sugar. Still very sweet. Next batch I will try 1/2 cup. Keep working my way down to just enough sweet.
