My wife and I both love the Jeep, and it's mainly my vehicle. My "nice" thing for all the sacrifices I've made over the years for us and the family. So, my wife was super supportive of the purchase... and did I mention, we both love it? Well, my wife always makes sure to ask me when ever she wants to take Lady out for a spin. Whether to run to the store, or cart the kids to some location. Well, on Monday, she asks to take our eldest to gymnastics practice. In my usual fashion, I tell her she doesn't have to ask and to have fun. Since I had Monday off, I had finished up being productive for the day and decided to get in some rare video game time. Wife comes home; opens the door and calls out to me from the garage in a concerned voice -- I need to see you. Now, I'm thinking... What did I do? Not do? What did she find out from the eldest while driving to practice that she can't tell me in front of his brother? I step into the garage to see the weather stripping hanging from the garage door and it hits me... she tried to pull into the garage with the Jeep in sun rider mode. :surprised:

I go to inspect the Jeep's top. All looks ok. Minor scratches on the clamps that hold the soft top down (no big deal). Everything is mechanically working good. I inspect the canvas... cool, no rips, tears, snags.. all looks good. We then proceed to fix the weather stripping on the Garage. I'm supportive to my wife, giving her hugs, she feels soooo bad about it. Life's been tough for her lately. She's been under the weather lately, and historically suffers from migraines. Due to the recent sickness, migraines, and meds, she doesn't / hasn't sleep well and is consistently tired. Thus, everything is tough for her. So, I do the best I can and re-iterate at the time, it's no big deal (more hugs). No major damage done. Episode over with....(or so I think)

Roughly 24 hours later... I'm driving and notice what look like scratches on the hood of the Jeep. Could it be that, or is that merely dirt, she is dirty... get out to inspect.. and sure enough... what I hadn't thought of... is when my wife pulled back out of the garage, the weather strip had dragged on the Jeep the entire way. Multiple small scratches from top to bumper... ugh..

Going to swing by the store to pick up some Meguiar's or other compound to buff them out in the next few days, hopefully it will do the trick... I don't have the heart to tell my wife she scratched up the Jeep -- this will be a clandestine operation, so shhhhh!. -- Really wish I'd looked more into the clear coating protection that other folks were applying to their rigs right off the lot.

Wife vs. garage with vehicles = 0 for 2. --- the story of the other episode is better (includes door almost coming off); but it wasn't a Jeep.

Prayers for Wife, as she is heading back to doctor today. You guys rock.

I suppose it could have been worse. Bonus points for the clandestine buffing plan too.

Edit: Prayers for you wife as well, sorry I missed that point.

You rock too bro! Way to support your lovely bride! Hugs to her and hopes she gets some answers.

I take blood pressure meds to keep from having daily headaches. So I kinda know where she's at but not the same as migraines.

I look at that & all I can imagine is the nasty food coloring taste. :puke:
lol, I don't think I've ever had something with that much coloring so you've got me beat there.
