Apology acceptedYep...Mom starts cooking 3-4 days in advance of those holidays. She then refuses to cook for at least a week afterwards.Nice!!!

To use her words, those meals are each a labor of love. Thanksgiving and Christmas for us is spent in the kitchen, with a brief retreat to the dining room (using the nice Lenox china) for "The Meal" followed by more loitering in the kitchen.

That’s how my grandma and mom used to pronounce it-I pronounce it that way to honor them

We all contribute a little though - I've somehow inherited the gravy duties on Thanksgiving...no pressure![]()

My Mom was really big on stressing that. We moved around a lot, Dad often went on ahead of us. She made it a point to stress that no matter what happens, no matter how many times we move or how long Dad has to work away from home, we were a family.Nice to have a close family for the holidays![]()
