So I just found out as I was listening to The Offspring that Five Finger Death Punch did a cover of "Gone Away," one of my favorite Offspring songs.

I was not prepared, THIS HIT CLOSE TO HOME. There are hollywoodisms, but its pretty close to what happens...

Fortunately for my IED strike we all made it, although I feel like it was a major contributing factor to my eventual medical retirement.
A friend from High School who joined the Army was not so fortunate with his situation. He's buried in Arlington.

Sorry to sour the mood but this hit me hard, and is why my general mood has been "Gone Away" since I've been out of the service.
