More or less some of the unsung heroes of the Cabinet members... Defense and State are always in the news (sometimes Homeland Security) but Interior? Transportation? Housing and Urban Development? You hardly hear about them, even though they do exist and are important.

Also means that Congress won't give them the time of day. When was the last time a comprehensive infrastructure repair bill went through?

I would say that we should consolidate the infrastructure components of Interior and Transportation. Not to mention the Department of Energy; they have the power grid. Infrastructure is spread across multiple cabinet departments where it should be administered by a central body.

No congressman (or -woman) has the cajones to drop several trillion dollars (we may need as much as $15 trillion) on a long term repair program. Infrastructure work takes too long, costs too much, and seldom has the tangible effects that make good campaign commercials.

Yep. Had a friend with a pickup truck who went into the bush and got stuck. He walked out and got me. We went in together and proceeded to get the Jeep stuck. Both of us walked out.

Went and got a friend with a 4 wheeler and a winch. He tied off and pulled us both out.

I got a 4x4 s-10 stuck at 1:00 in the morning. Got a ride with the paper guy to my parents and woke my brother up to pull us out.
