New Bumper: LOD Destroyer stubby

That would be great but I was more so wondering how easy it was to access the bottom of the bumper to get the bolts on with the skid plate installed. From the side it looks like it could be a bit of a challenge if you didn't first mount the license plate bracket and then attach the skid plate and then install on the JL

I went and looked for the mounting instructions, but I apparently threw them away. It was about 400,000 degrees outside when we put the bumper on, and apparently that fried my brain.

I *think* the skid plate is mounted after the bumper is fully installed. Looking at it again, the license plate bracket must have been put on before putting on the skid plate (and possibly before mounting the bumper at all). Since the winch mount uses the same mounting points as the license plate bracket, it should have the same access issues.

Rather than give you bad info, I will share this video since they install the winch and the skid plate. (Just as an FYI, they have an issue installing the LED fogs in this video because they had the steel bumper version of the fog lights. The plastic bumper version bolts straight in. There is an adapter that LOD offers if you have a steel bumper to make those factory fogs work too.)

So maybe if I have them install the front bumper with the winch body then I can install the skid and wire it myself. I live in an apartment and even though I have the right tools its so dimly lit in the garage and the spaces are so small I can't do the bumper install.

We will have almost the same exact setup except my JLUR is Black and I don't have the Mopar 2" lift. Looks really sharp and definitely helped make this decision easier

Just finished up the install on my new LOD Destroyer Stubby front bumper and a Smittybuilt XRC winch. Other mods are 2 inch mopar lift with 35' Ko2 tires.Drove around a bit and the weight increase is not noticeable, drives fine, cant tell a difference. Installation was pretty easy, Everything is rock solid. I like the optional skid plate, it is Way beefier than the stock sway disconnect cover. My last changer will be ROAM side steps, they are on order, just waiting for them to be made. Then I am done. I swear!

With the Mopar lift, did you use any spacers to help level out the Jeep up front? I am pretty much doing the exact same setup.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but have a question for those who installed the earlier version destroyer bumper and skid plate. Apparently the original skid plate install didn’t come with the newer version crash bar bracket, and therefore had to connect directly to the frame horns. Did this require drilling the frame? I recently bought a used stubby destroyer bumper and skid plate, and it didn’t come with the crash bar bracket the newer ones include.
