To quote one of my best friends from college: "So long as people don't want to live in caves, engineers will always have jobs."

When I used to work for the NYC water authority, I used to ask people if they took a shower, washed their hands, or went to the bathroom that day. When they inevitably said yes, I would say "You're welcome."
