I know!!! Yay!!

Actually, I’m pretending next week is not an option. I’m at a conference Sunday-Thursday, and though it’s in Toronto, which is approx. where my dealer is, I can’t possibly see how I’d have time to go get her. But if she’s sitting on the lot, how do I not????
Fantastic timing ;)

Hate flies! They serve no purpose other than to sting people. I'd use fire to kill them myself.

Mornin Jeep creeps! Only 9 pages added since I signed off last night, slackers.

On the subject of moving, if I can get a job out there, I'd pack up my crap and move tomorrow out to Arizona or New Mexico. I don't mind the heat and I'd rather be closer to Moab than 3 days travel. Not to mention good wheeling abounds just about everywhere in the desert.
I'd love Colorado, but family is here!

What would you say are ‘things’ to watch out for when removing the hard top?
1) It is A LOT heavier than it has any right to be.
2) Very awkward, most of the weight is towards the back (this might be a bit different on a 4 door)
3) If that rear glass opens on you, you're screwed. Always keep the back angled up a little when moving. Tape it shut too with masking tape.
4) We set it down on the grass with no issue. The scratches came from (unavoidably) landing it on the sidewalk for a minute.
5) Take it slow, have a plan before moving.
6) If you do it in the heat, you're gonna need a shower afterwards.

Here's a question for any of you folks that happen to have proximity entry. Does your Jeep keep flashing the lights when you spray the door handles with water? I understand they should flash when my hand is near the handle, but they kept coming on whenever I spayed her. I haven't seen any mention of that in the evil general threads. I might have to open a new thread unless someone has seen something I missed.

In all honesty, I would feel very uncomfortable without mirrors. I had enough anxiety driving that U-Haul truck when I moved - no rearview mirror.

JLU here. Yeah, it takes a minute to figure out how to get a handle on it when you first try and pick it off. The other awkwardness is that the shell twists some so you are trying to "keep it straight" and you don't REALLY know what "straight" is as it moves a bit.

Not sure we did any damage to mine, it's in the basement with some blankets on sleeping. Will see when we wake it for winter, lol. I need to get that lift in by then!

Not too bad...my 2008 M3 did that worse. The tailgate seemed to be more sensitive.

Also, don't put your keyfob in the washer, unless you like random alarms every 10 or so minutes...just sayin...

You got a JLU top down a flight of stairs??? :surprised::surprised::surprised:

Seriously, damn. My mishap came from when we tried to flip it on its side to carry through a door (ended up aborting and going around to the backyard). We later discovered that it's much easier to handle vertically, with the back end in the sky.

The first time I tried it with our 2011 Unlimited I didn't like it either. Maybe cuz the rear top was still on, dunno. I had no issue today while running around for a few minutes. I wouldn't wanna cruise the interstate this way I think. Really enjoyed my quick spin to a couple stores. Also showed her off to the Mark that has the Punkin sport. He loved the color. Even confessed that he likes his Punkin but does not love it. He's trying to convince his wife to get an OB Unlimited Rubi.

Side note, my hardtop now has muddy pawprints on top of it.:asshat:

Cousin has two hyperactive doggos. :headbang:

When I took mine off I made sure to have the glass already open... I'm not sure how this is an issue.
