All good, nothing wrong with never owning one. Living in a good area is a plus as well. When I first got married and went on deployment we moved into a new apartment. My wife had to move everything by herself after half the buildings got burgled and several vehicles were broken into over a few months time... She got to a safer complex and although it was breaking the bank (as a new E-5) there was virtually no crime. We have a tiny bit of protection in that we are on a dead end type street. Cul-de-sac. Discourages the idiots that just wanna drive by and grab stuff, only one way to run. I understand what you are saying for sure, just have never owned a firearm.
