Last resort though, but there have been muggings right outside of our office. We're right next to the UNC School of the Arts and so a lot of these young and naive art students wander off campus straight into "the hood" and don't realize it.Oy, just thinking about the hoops I'd have to go through to carry one of those here...

I've had a few instances of having to go places I'd rather not at hours I'd rather not. Just keep your head down, keep your expensive stuff out of sight, and get in, get out.
The beautiful thing about NYC is the culture of apathy. Nobody wants to get in anybody else's business. Follow that rule, and don't stand at the top of the subway stairs, and you're good.
They should be getting set up in Sturgis. Its amazing how much they transform that little town for the week!There’s already been quite a few bikes here already. We’ll be going to Sturgis today to check it out! Looks like the Corvette Club of Illinois had a meet here last week as we saw several in East South Dakota on our way up and there’s still several here. There also may be a Mini Cooper club here as there was about 5 of them together in Custer

I am very familiar with the block by block scheme...I think I have a 1-2 block buffer between my apartment and auto chop shops. About a dozen blocks west are housing projects.
Mine's is currently on a carabiner. Most of the time it hangs out in my purse, but if I don't want to carry it (Jeeping for instance) the carabiner is IMO dorky.Not to be a big party pooper if you really want the leather holster but.... something like this cheapo carabiner might save you $39.50

I love the grip on these. Makes me jealous my LCP is the original version.
