Recon/Ridge Grappler? or Baja Boss A/T?

trying to decide between the three options in. 37x12.5 R17.

I see a lot of vehicle run the Nitto Ridge Grapplers, They look really nice and aggressive. but really have mixed reviews. some swear by it. some really hate it.

I cant really find any good reviews of the Recon Grapplers. I like this one because it's similar looking to the K02's subtle and aggressive at the same time. I have driven a few, but only on the road. any off road reviews on this? also the fact that it has mileage warranty is a plus.

The Baja Boss A/T's seems to be the tire of choice for many! Love the look and price as well as the mileage warranty. This is currently my top pick. some even say might as well get the M/T's?

In the past I've had a few sets of Trail Grapplers, as well as the STT Pro's. but not really wanting to do MT Tires, as the Jeep is my daily driver and we plan on taking it on road trips in the west.

Cooper Rugged Treks are about 10 lbs lighter than MT Baja Boss in 37s.

Do you Daily your Jeep with the M/T's? How are they?

All that siping on the Baja Boss AT really seals the deal. I haven't run them, but my bet is they are hard to beat for traction in wet, icy, and snowy conditions.

O.P. go find all of these at your local tire store, line them up, and push your palm across them. You can usually feel which tire is going to grip better. With this one simple trick...lol.

I Live in Dallas, so we dont really get any snow out here.

And to be completely honest, the look of the tire really plays a big factor with me. lol really trying not to go MT's.

Looks being first priority, I'd go Nitto Ridge Grappler. I don't expect y'all would have much use for a tire good in the snow down that way

Yeah no need for snow tires out here. we do get snow but melts in an hour. and if it does snow, sliding down the road really won't matter, everybody would just stay home Thats including me.

But the Baja Boss does look nice in person as well, the Ridge of course just looks amazing!

only thing I like about the Ridge is it comes in a 38x12.5 R17. The MT only come in a 37.

Again its all mostly for looks, I do wheel the Jeep here and there but with work, that rarely happens sadly.........

I love the look of the ridge grappler but I wanted to go in a different direction because it seems everyone is running the ridge grappler. I went with the recon grapplers and have no regrets. I was worried they wouldn't look aggressive enough but I was wrong. Quiet on the road, smooth. As far as offroad, I did two BOH trails with these at Windrock right after a rain storm with no issues.

Then I'd go for the Interco Super Swamper Radial TSL/SX in 36x12.5R17 (and they run large, so the size of another brand's 37). Nothing looks better.

I really like the Ridge grapplers so far, they did really well on the Rubicon a few months ago and they don’t seem to be too noisy at freeway speeds. I know a few guys with the Baja Boss and they also have zero complaints. Can’t go wrong with either option.

Since you are going to Cross Bar once a week, you need MTs...

Since you will have MTs and are going to Cross Bar, you might as well get 40s...

I went Trail Grapplers 40x13.5x17. They are a tad loud on the highway but well worth it once you hit dirt.

I all seriousness, I have always run Ridge Grapplers and have really liked them. I changed to the TGs and they are impressive offroad. I think you would be happy with either but go 38s. I think that is the perfect size.

Not a big fan of the Ridge Grapplers. Biggest issue is with wet pavement traction. I actually have to be careful turning at traffic lights and such because the rear end will wash out pretty easy. Also they are not that quiet in my opinion, at least compared to various other true MT style tires I have run in the past. I decided to get the Ridge Grappler thinking it would be better than the previous MT's (Falken Wildpeak MT) for mostly daily driving, wet roads, and tire noise yet a little more aggressive than a true AT tire. What I got, in my opinion, was a tire just as loud as an MT with worse wet weather traction, and doesn't work as well in the mud or even look as good as an MT. I've also ran several sets of BFG AT's and always like those tires for daily driving.

BB AT was great for us. Full depth sipes btw. They are a little heavy. We sold them with plenty of thread depth left with at least 65k miles on them to a guy who was going to strictly use them for trails.
