The news/media here on the islands is trying its best to get everyone riled up about this (barely) Cat 1 hurricane that’s to pass about 200 miles south of Hawaii.

Sheesh — guys, we live in the tropics. We MIGHT get some rain and winds every so often, it’s not the Apocalypse.

Hence the need for a healthy dose of Monty Python this morning.

Hell, it's the same thing here on the Gulf coast - every little topical disturbance is treated like a Cat 5 Armageddon disaster (and going to head our way forecasting 10 days out - they're lucky if they can predict with 200-300 miles from 5 days out).

I guess they do it for all the northern transplants we've had move down here but if you cry wolf to often even they are going to start ignoring you. I always tell the newbies don't worry until 2-3 days out with a Cat 1/2 projected landfall with 50-100 miles and then only if you are on the east side of the storm. Cat 3 or higher time to decide if you're going to hang around or not (mostly because do you want to deal with the power outages/no internet/cable, etc). I usually don't worry until a Cat 4/5 is heading my way and again only if I'm right in the path or to the east of the eye)..

As for me, you can strike "and gray" as well... I was going to replace "gray" with "gay" but the latter has lost its fine original definition of happy-go-lucky with stupid modern sexual connotations.

37 inches prior to the stubby and steel skid plate. 37 inches after the install. Bumper and skid went on without issue. Everything else went South. I got a set of halo fog/DRL/turn lights for this bumper. Problem is, bracket does not line up, and the harness is garbage. So the Rubi fog's are in, for now. Harness, yup, grabbed the plastic bumper harness, problem solved. Now the only thing I gotta look into. That bar, mounted, it sits almost up against the hooks. @RockTrixWheels, has this issue ever come up before on this bar and the OEM Rubi hooks? The bar is solid as all get out. And love it on this bumper. Just wish I had more access to the hooks for synthetic ropes and straps. Well, that was a good part of my Saturday. Next up, switch bank (12 auxiliary switches), and some forward lighting. Plus, the winch power cutoff.

My warn bar does the same, works fine with soft shackles.
