Does anyone know how many computers and sensors are in these jl’s. Just curious how much stuff has to be removed to. Make it old school. No nanny’s. Basically all you (I) would want is power brakes, air conditioning ,power steering. Don’t even need a radio. Different engine and transmission of course. Just throwing this out to see other ideas. lol. The aftermarket has all you would need to add options.

At this point, there are probably enough of them to make the JL into an expensive garage/driveway ornament if you take them all out ?

With enough time and money you can do anything.
You'll need to find a CJ donor and just swap the JL body into it if you want a JL with none of the things that make it a JL.

Well the first step is to separate the frame and the body. After that remove the engine and the entire drivetrain. Next remove all of the wiring and any fuse boxes computers and all that that you can find. Now it's time to gut the interior as well.

After you've done all that you could rebuild it however you want. It's still a basic body on frame SUV so with a little patience some welding skills and the right parts anything is possible. If you sell off all the stuff that you don't want you can probably afford to buy most of the stuff that you want to actually install.
