And they listened? Wow! :)
Hey, JR, got any good trail recommendations? I'm not ready to try out the difficult trails at the OHV park yet up here. I'd love some ideas on something more than an old logging road!
I looked around, but a lot of stuff here is protected and off limits land. Next week I'm gonna head to Gilbert to use the OHV park. If you don't use the gear on the Jeep, it breaks when you need it, thats a fact. Its just like muscles in your body, they are weak if not used. Vehicles don;t like to sit, and 4x4 systems don't like sitting idle, stuff dries out and yadda yadda ;)

I just stopped by the local stealership and test drove a JLUR. It confirmed a few things for me...

  • My decision not to get "leather" seats was a good one. The cloth seats are quite comfy and nicely embroidered/stitched.
  • The steering in the JL is vague and does drift a bit. Surprisingly it was worse at slower speeds than at freeway speeds. Could've been over-inflated tires. (Won't stop me from buying as I'll write it off to "A Jeep Thing")
  • Wind noise with the 3 piece hardtop is quite noticeable at freeway speeds. Hopefully the upgraded sound system will drown it out. (Won't stop me from buying as I'll write it off to "A Jeep Thing")
I'm still going to buy one!
oh, OH! I forgot the stuff I loved.

  • Loved how high you sit.
  • Loved the stiff(ish) ride on the Rubi model.
  • We took the freedom panels off and drove down the Coast Highway a few miles. Feels much like a convertible with the freedom panels removed. Much better than a sunroof.

well before you bring Maury into the mix it is very possible that She was just hovering over all the post's and reading comments from way back before she decided to make the plunge and become a Misfit !

I did !
Where's the fun in that? :cwl::cwl::cwl:

I suppose what surprised me the most was that the complaint threads picked apart the JL and how truly insignificant the ‘issues’ are. Of course people have had issues and I’m not discounting the people that ended up with lemons. The nitpicking of the ESS (didn’t really notice), the noise, the wiggle in steering, I found these ‘issues’ to truly be a Jeep thing. So, I’m just happily driving my quiet, kickass Lagertha:)

I get it. Essentially things rust themselves together and/or deteriorate.
Seriously Gilbert next week? NOW I'm interested! At a minimum for a JL photo opportunity!!
