I can imagine the sales rep, fresh out of Vietnam, "you want a soft top? You Pansy!"

I've done some conversions:

$69 in 1976 is $306.49 today. Very nice for an engine upgrade!
$225 translates to $999.42 so not that bad compared to what I'd pay for an OEM softop today...
Further to these calculations, 0 is 1976 is 42 and awesome today.

Can you imagine what the general forums would look like if we were limited to the CJ-5/7? I can imagine the arguements over how the cost to upgrade to the larger inline six doesn't justify a mere 5 Hp and 10 Lb-ft advantage, and then someone with the V8 getting smug with everyeone...
Central locks? I will reach across the seat and use my !#$% hand thank you very much. I can just walk around and unlock the passenger door if I need to, unlike these lazy kids!

Thanks! That brought up a memory. We had a Ford Bronco growing up. My mom would unlock the driver's door, then throw the keys over the Bronco for me to unlock the passenger door. :giggle:

Nice, congrats...love my MT too!
Not quite at the loving stage with the 6M yet...more of an awkward acceptance, lol.

Either I'll figure it out, or this will be a very long 36 months.

Forgot what you came from, but it took me some adjusting to the clutch. Then once I was better with it, I beat the ESS off the light and killed it, lol!

It's fun to drive the MT though!
I'm coming from an automatic - this is my first stick vehicle. :lipssealed:

Mornin Jeep Peeps! Another great weather day! I already said it, but congrats again to Chris. Awesome looking Gabrielle.

To answer AJ, I believe we still have Joe and RA to get thru the process. Something seems totally wrong with your order already RA. You best be making some calls cuz you should already have a VIN I would think. Sure hope they didn't "misplace" your order.

Manual transmissions are much more enjoyable when you can cruise. San Diego and LA traffic are no fun in a manual Dodge Dakota...

I've heard they are huge in NC actually!
Yeah, that was a pretty big one, but they're rare. Your real concern here is a Copperhead; They're all over the place, no rattle, venom is just as bad and they have very good camouflage. The adults have control over their venom glands, and generally aren't trying to kill you so you don't get a leathal dose, but the babies... They're gonna empty everything they've got in you and you'd better get to a hospital ASAP!
