STOP/START SYSTEM — AUTOMATIC CRAZINESS (ALWAYS EQUIPPED)
The Stop/Start function is developed to reduce thread boredom and keep users on their toes. The system will stop the thread automatically
during unannounced periods of conversation if the required conditions are met. OBWHAN or the QUEEN (or her designated Knights of Off-Roading) commenting will press the accelerator pedal and automatically re-start the conversation. ESS threads have been upgraded with a heavy duty memes, enhanced banter, and other upgraded humor parts, to handle the additional thread starts. Threads equipped with eTorque contain a heavy duty meme generator and an additional hybrid comical battery to store humor from thread deceleration for use on startup after a stop as well as providing launch torque assist.

NOTE: It is recommended that the Start/Stop System be disabled during MEME WARS.

Automatic Mode
The Stop/Start feature is enabled after every day's starting routine with the Queen announcing her presence. At that time, the thread will go into STOP/START READY and if all other conditions are met, can go into a STOP/ START AUTOSTOP ACTIVE “Autostop” mode.

ahhh, well that does make sense now. I usually creep off the brake pedal so the engine cranks once the light is green but before the car in front is moving so I've never really noticed any roll back.

I went auto. i wanted the remote start. I live in Oklahoma so the weather is MOSTLY nice year round, but on those days when the ice hits I want to be able to defrost and get the Jeep warm before I get out there, so I can remove the rest of the ICE from my Jeep. I drive a manual right now and I was UGLY crying when I ordered my Auto. I grew up in California-Land of bad traffic. A MANUAL when driven properly is PERFECT for traffic. you take your feet off all the peddles and your vehicle stays PUT. you don't have to worry about rolling into the jerk in front of you who would then sue your ass off because you rolled into them. Never worry about 1-2-3-2-1-2-3-2-1-2-3 on the highway... just go 1-2 and drive 25 in the fast lane and what do you know, YOU NEVER HIT YOUR BREAKS! same with long lines at stop signs, just put it in 1 and take your foot off the clutch. So what if there is a gap in front of you, you will get to the stop sign and will NEVER use your break. Now we talk hills, 1/2 clutch is a thing. in 20 years I have NEVER rolled back on a hill. Learn how to take out your clutch then let off the break and then you are golden. I had to learn how to drive a manual in San Francisco before my folks would let me get my license. Manuals are the best and they are what I like to drive (even though we coddle our society and tell them that they can have an automatic "trophy car"). Get the tranny you need for what you do, not because you live in the city or live in the country.

I've never been to NYC, so I'm not sure about the traffic there. But whenever I visit DC, I get to my hotel, leave my vehicle parked there and just take the Metro wherever I'm going.

Just for giggles, and to see what happens, find a hill and try it out. Stop on the hill, engine stops. Then pop your foot off the brake but don't touch the gas right away. I'll bet you feel the brakes holding as the engine fires up and then the brakes let go.

That's typical rush hour in tourist season.

Fun fact, NYC coined the term "gridlock".

Patience, "assertive" driving, and plenty of horn use are the standard techniques for handling this sort of thing.
