Is there a typical length of Driveshafts after a new lift is installed. I know there is... What I am getting at is this.. I will be putting on a 3.5" Rock Krawler X Factor No Limits on my new JLUR.... I am wanting to replace the driveshafts at the same time... I Know normally you measure and then have a custom one made, but it would seem that enough of these have been done that they probably already know an average length that will work.

My next question is this.. Can I get by without putting new driveshafts on for a short time. I am going to be doing all this work at my Families place which is a few hundred miles away. Can I get by with the stock drive shafts To get me home and then measure and get the new ones ordered? Can I drive around on the stock shafts until the new ones come in? I wasn't sure if the 3.5" lift is going to be too much for the slip joint with just normal highway and around town driving while I wait on the new ones..

Why even get new driveshafts if they arent broken? Your driveshafts will be fine for a very long time

Your front will be the only issuebut thats dependant on shock length, it will eventually rub a hole in the cv boot on the transfercase side, but thats only on lots of droop and flex and in 4wd…otherwise it doesnt spin

But the new angle of the Driveshaft after the lift will be putting stress on the Ujoints will it not? Plus the length changes. ??? Isnt it better to have a proper length and better angle fitment?

3.5” isnt anything to worry about, set caster to 6 or so in front, make rear pinion 1-3degrees downward differance than driveshaft…all is good

Gotcha. Everything I have always dealt with had the regular Ujoints.. Older Blazers etc etc.. Sounds like I can get aways with out the new driveshafts for now. I am going with the Falcon 3.3's for my 3.5" lift. I will replace the Front DS first and then go from there.

Falcons arent that long so youll be good even with front for a long time

The rear will last you until you smash it

Well, Thats inevitable! haha..
I had probably 50k miles on my rear before i replaced it…nothing wrong with it it was just too fat and hitting my gas tank with the amount of droop i have. I could still be running it and not have any issues with it if i wanted….and im at Pretty much a 6” lift

I was getting ready to ask you what your lift was... And what shocks you were running. Looks like coil overs for sure. Don't think I am going that route right now. Since I will be doing a majority of overlanding stuff with the occasional Heavy Moderate Trail... I Figured these Falcon 3.3's would give me a good overall ride with adjustability.

Well maybe. It depends on the shocks that he uses. The front shaft especially will get torn up with shocks that have a longer extended length.
