Installed a warn zeon 10s with the JCR offroad mounting plate. Used my custom milled fairlead and made a fairlead spacer (not sure if that's the actual name) without the 4 extra bolt holes that the JCR one had. I had to do a LOT of grinding on my frame forks. In fact, my forks are so close together, that my bumper bolts almost don't fit. They hang up on the sides of the bolt holes in the frame. It took me about 25 minutes of wrestling and pounding with a rubber mallet before I could get the bolts far enough in to start the nuts and draw it in that way. Jeep really screwed the pooch on the "winch ready" design. Mopar sells the zeon, and it doesn't fit every jeep without modification. Going flush and square to the JCR mount wasn't enough to get the winch in place, I had to grind an angle on the frame forks to help with clearance even more. Put a large piece of foam I had over the grille and hood to protect the paint. My winch still is making contact on each side. I don't want to take any more because the wall around the bolt holes in the frame forks is pretty thin already.

I have to pick up some nuts to put the front three torx bolts back. Nothing I have here matches, so I'll measure them and figure out what size they are.

I'm also pretty annoyed that the winch is so close to the grille. Washing is going to be interesting, and it would be nice if I could send the winch power cable down rather than along the winch body and have it be visible. I don't subscribe to "if you have a jeep, you have to do everything you can to make it look like the biggest piece of sh*t, or it isn't a real jeep." A Jeep can have both form and function.

Anyway, it was around 4:30AM when I finally got it buttoned up and okay to drive home from my shop, so I haven't installed the rope yet. Working on that today.

My 4 year old son notices the Rubi wheel/tire takeoffs I bought from another member in the garage.

Son: Why do we have those wheels?

Me: They are for the Jeep when it comes.

Son: Doesn’t the new Jeep come with wheels?

Me: Yes,but these are better.

Son: Why are they better?

Me: They are bigger and look cooler.

Son: *Walks away shaking his head*

I feel like his mother may be training him behind the scenes...

It wasn’t too hard to put together, I did it myself. You can split it in half for travel without having to unscrew anything. It would likely fit in the back of the Jeep with the seats down but I haven’t tried it.
Thank you!!

What is the difference between your rock rails and the stock ones? Those look great! Where did you get them?
They are OEM and I got them from the dealer at 15% off using a coupon I found through Jeep wave I assume.

They are a bit wider than the stock rubicon rails...maybe 3-4 wide. Acts a good step, but not quite as wide as the steps that come on the Sahara. They are steel and mount to same points that the original ones do. The finish is similar but these seem to have a more coarse bedliner type finish which I really like. Cost was about $786 after discount...not cheap, but worth it.

Thanks. Any guess if the bolt pattern/attachment method lines up the same as the stock Sahara steps.

They should. It has three mounting points to the frame and also to the pinch seam. These should fit all Wranglers regardless of model.

Just ordered sunshade from Jeep Tops www.jtops.com. TX flag design. Not only does the quality look exceptional BUT the customer service is amazing. I have emailed them several times and they always get back to you extremely fast (sometimes the owner himself). Great great customer service!!!!

Finished installing the Barricade Trail Force HD full width bumper and Smittybilt x20 10k winch.
Had to file out the frame mounting holes because the bolts didn't quite line up. Make sure you mount the winch to the bumper before mounting the bumper. Don't ask how I learned that. I didn't want to do it that way because of the weight. The winch was a very tight fit against the grill but it did fit. Had a heck of a time running the wires from the winch to the battery. The positive wire just made it to the battery terminal. Overall I'm pleased with the result. My legs and back might forgive me in a day or two.

Do you mind taking a pic from the side of the rails? I want to see how much higher they did than the Sahara steps. Thanks!
