Will it work with a Bestop Sunrider and sunscreen installed?
I actually have a different molle panel* with an alien sunshade and it doesn't interfere at all, so my guess is this shouldn't either.

* sorry, yours wasn't available 3 years ago, but you can bet I'll pick this up next time.

Hey, @EPIC Adventure Outfitters and @The Ginger : I just got my CROW ( bare model ) installed on my '23 JLU hard-top and am really impressed with the quality and details. The video helped a lot and answered almost all my questions ( strangely there were 0 instructions in the box?)

A couple issues encountered: On the rear mounting, getting the factory plastic roof retainer brackets back positioned properly to prevent wiggles and squeaks is really challenging. It's also not possible to get them down low enough to keep the freedom panel as tight as it was from the factory. You can tilt the brackets a little left or a little right, but the CROW seems to JUST keep it from getting all the way into place ( first pic). Am I missing something?

On the front, I chose to use some double-sided foam tape to hold things until I was sure about placement. It seems like the freedom panels are rubbing (on the white part) the CROW right where it bends upward to form the front mounting flange ( 2nd pic ). Is this common or because I don't have the ears completely clamped down flat due to tape use?

Hey Dan!

We appreciate your support in taking the time to provide feedback! There are many adjustments that can be made to the factory hard top mounting points for the ideal fit for each unique Jeep rolling off the line.

It looks like the double-sided tape is adding some height to the installation, of which you should be able to counteract with an easy adjustment as suggested below. This method of fastening the front header of our overheard rack is proving far more popular than we expected, as such there may be further refinements that can be made on our end to better accommodate this option thanks to your feedback.

When you have the time, if you could please remove the two front Hard Top panels and try applying downwards pressure onto the two jogged bends at the front of the overhead rack, you should be able to persuade the front bend angles down slightly to provide the necessary clearance without having to remove your existing double-sided tape.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us on our official support channel via email ([email protected]) or phone (604-888-2961).

- Cheers from the team at EPIC!

I did this today. The (non-boxed) potion of the rack did give a bit and bend down (see images) but it doesn't really move the angled portion out of the way of contacting the panels. I'm hesitant to bend any more as I don't want to stress the aluminum. Any other suggestions?

Hey Dan,

Oh no, that doesn’t look good! It appears that our previous suggestions may not have been super clear. Our apologies!

We are looking for you to apply pressure on the leading edge of the front bend (marked by the green dashed line in our attached picture below), to create the necessary clearance. You should be able to undo the unsightly bend that you created before the side flange pieces. Please give this one more attempt, as it should not be too difficult to achieve the desired clearance.

If you are unable to do so, or believe that you have fatigued the metal too much, we would be happy to help to resolve this situation through our official support channel, which is more expedient than working through the forum. Please send us an email at [email protected] if you require further assistance.

Cheers from the team at EPIC!
