Just thought some of you would like to see the battery with the trim covers removed. I'm getting ready to install Rock Slide Engineering step sliders & planning out my wire harness routing looks like plenty of room.

@jetfixer - I had been planning to remove my back seats, this is great info, when you removed all the plastic battery covers, does it look like it is easy enough to access the bolts you would need to remove to take out the rear seats?

I wanted to make my own version of the goose gear sleeping platform.

it looks like 3 bolts on the front & 5 bolts in the back. It looks pretty easy just bulky.

Man, you really did a number on that thing. I was planning on adding some step sliders after a lift, but that looks like it involves a ton of trim work.

You didn't happen to find anything like this tab while you were in there, did you? I found this tucked in with the battery behind the rear seatback. Was wondering where it's supposed to go.

Wait what do you mean? I've been trying to get my dealer to install AMP research power rails but he keeps saying he doesn't know if it will work and that the only one approved for 4xe is the rock engineering rails. Says something about the wiring. What have you seen is the issue here? In looking at OP pictures I still don't see how rock rails would be a problem, from any brand

I have not seen that in my investigation of the battery.

I was surprised at how much had to be removed to run the wiring. I was expecting just having to remove the door sills. Looks like it's going to be more work than I expected.
