Side Airbags Standard For All 2018 Wranglers

One of the options conspicuously missing from the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL dealer system we showed you last week is the supplemental front seat-side airbags optional on most of the 2017 Wrangler trims and packages.

As astutely noted by JL Wrangler Forums members, all 2018-forward Jeep Wranglers will now have standard side curtain airbags which are mandated by NHTSA Rule FMVSS No. 266 to be on all vehicles produced on or after September 1, 2017.

The exact location and deployment method of the airbags is not yet known, but this soon-to-be standard safety feature is sure to improve the Jeep Wrangler’s safety ratings when the JL Wrangler begins production.
