My daughter and I installed suspension takeoff parts from a 22 JLUR Xtreme Recon onto her 21 JLU Sport. We bought the parts from a forum member who lives nearby which he removed at ~300 miles, so they were like new. We are completely thrilled with the results, especially for the money spent, just under $500 which includes the front bump stop kit and Mopar longer lower control arms we also purchased. We were originally planning to buy a 2.5" lift for ~$2k, but decided to give this a shot since it was so much cheaper. She also got 35" tire and wheel package, bringing the lift height ~3.5" total. The Jeep drives and handles better than her Sport suspension, tracks perfectly and feels very planted. For those wanting a lift for looks and mild/moderate off-roading, I would highly recommend this swap as the value and performance cannot be beat. My daughter is a professional video editor and has been creating videos of all mods being done to her Jeep, so I am sharing the video here for anyone researching this swap a bit long, but covers all the details). I really love doing these projects together with her and she has learned a ton in the process. Give her video a like, I know she will appreciate it.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Well done!! Nice video work too.
That rekon setup looks just right for sure.
Those LCAs make a huge difference, glad it worked out.

Thanks, glad you found it helpful. Caliper paint was a fun and simple project that will keep the calipers from oxidizing. will Stay looking good for years.

Nice video! Offhand, does anyone know what the measurements on stock XR are floor to fender for both front and rear? I don't plan on going over 35's on my JLUR, considering this as an option to ditch my spacer lift

Keep in mind the Rubicon has different fenders than a Sport so will be a difference for sure. I can tell you measurement on the JLU Sport with XR and 35” KO2 tires is 39” in the front and 41 1/2” in the rear.

Thanks for sharing this information. It is sure to help someone who wants to do something similar.

@blnewt. It would be awesome if you could do a video of your award winning documentation.

If you are camera shy, you could just show your hands working.

Yup, steel bumpers and different fenders will make it hard to go apples for apples. Hence looking for stock JLUXR specs for a better comparison. Thanks!

Great video editing, and it's awesome to see parents bonding with kids over a common interest!

Nice video and very interesting thread :like:

Quick (an maybe silly) question... are the Rubicon XR springs the same for 3.6 and 2.0T engine models? or do they have different P/N?
They are typically different to account for the difference in weight. i don’t know specific part numbers but bet you could look them up on Mopar parts online.

I’m excited about this since I plan on doing the same to my 2 door Willys. However I want to keep the stock wheels for further savings and I like them. May add wheel spacers to get my desired stance.
