Jeep Wrangler JL Predicted to Have Lowest 5-Year Cost of Ownership In Segment

Kelley Book Book is predicting that the Jeep Wrangler JL will have the lowest 5-year cost of ownership of all off-road SUV/crossovers. KBB projects a 5-year cost to own of only $35,330.

In developing the data that drives our 5-Year Cost to Own projections, Kelley Blue Book analysts calculate projected resale values (which the Jeep Wrangler also tops), insurance and state fees, estimate the costs for fuel, maintenance and repairs and take into consideration the vehicle’s acquisition cost as determined by KBB’s Fair Purchase Price. This data evaluates these costs down to the model level and take into consideration new vehicle sales figures. More popular trims are given more weight to give a clearer picture of what buyers can expect in return when it comes to ownership costs.

What came in second on this list? The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (4-Door model)!
