Jeep Pickup (JT) Spied With Production-Intent Bed!

The elusive Jeep Wrangler pickup (JT) hasn’t been seen in nine months, but today we spied it again and it’s looking more production ready than it did last summer! Check out the full set of pics inside.

The previous Wrangler pickup prototype we saw (see first sighting pics) had a pickup bed that was obviously a temporary part (borrowed from a Ram 1500) with a cobbled together fit, and wheels that weren’t even centered in the wheel wells. The bed on the prototype spied today looks much more like the real deal.

The prototype in our photos is the 4 door unlimited crew cab pickup model.

Our latest information indicates JT production will begin late 2018, although there have been reports that the pickup may be pushed to late 2019.

However, in the FCA 2017 first quarter results conference call just days ago, Sergio Marchionne mentioned that in the first half of 2018 the company will be “decommissioning the old Wrangler and begin work on the introduction of the pickup truck which is coming up next” which suggests that the Wrangler pickup should arrive in late 2018 to early 2019.
