Here’s a hack that will permanently disable the engine auto start stop (ESS) system on your JL Wrangler, without having to press the ESS button upon every restart.
By unplugging hood open sensor #2 (see photo and instructions) – the one on the driver’s side of the engine compartment, ESS will be permanently disabled. The only downside experienced so far by JLWF members is the start/stop warning dash symbol that comes on. Small price to pay if ESS is a major annoyance to you.
