First, I am in no way affiliated with GOAT Fabrication. This is 100% my opinion as a customer who found them via JLwranglerforums.

That said, I'm super excited about these! We started with the Rock Sliders which were perfect for me. Great quality, super heavy, and obviously well built. Unfortunately, my wife said the angle wasn't comfortable for her to use as a step (she's short...and very picky... and not on here, so I can say that). After providing this feedback to Adam he immediate contacted me and we discussed the Step Slider design he was working on. Just a few weeks later and now they're on the way! I'll be sure to share my initial impressions and pics with everyone as soon as they get here!

I have to add that the customer service I have experienced during this process has been truly exceptional. The communication was phenomenal, including multiple phone calls and emails throughout the process. I'm excited to watch where Adam and GOAT Fabrications go from here because with this level of customer service and product quality... "Successful" is going to be a major understatement!

Great product. Helpful advice on removing and reinstalling body bolts is woefully lacking. Utube video is a joke, as it essentially starts with bolts removed. Customer service never responded to email. Good product deserves better support. Do better

Hey Dave,

I just double checked, and I do not have an email about this. Sorry about that. We also have a phone number on our site for future reference.

The video was intended for the overview of our slider not necessarily how to remove the bolts.

We can do a video if that helps our customer base for sure.

As far as the JL, JLU bolts are concerned. We noticed only a problem with them early on production as they appeared to use a different thread adhesive than they do now. When removing the bolt if you feel that it gets tight as you are removing it, tighten back a rotation to clear the threads and then continue to remove. The torque spec of 80-85 ft/lb. when installing.

Couple other tricks as we have done these 100's of times....

Stay in line with the socket wrench when removing and not side load the bolt.

When the bolt is completely loose if it still doesn't drop out, its still hanging on the clip from factory install. A little downward pressure on the washer as you spin it helps.

We will get a removal video together as I added it to the list .

Thank you and feel free to call me should you have any questions 586-930-8034

I got it done with tips from this forum.
The box I received contained only the product. It would be nice for you to include at least an attempt at instructions and cautions and your opinion and advice about heating the bolts. And yes I did send an email
Again, this is a good product and I am pleased and would recommend. The job is not over until the paperwork is done

Those are great profile shots to show the stepping width. What would really help me is if you or someone can show the same camera angle of the factory rock rail option used on the late model 2023-2024 Wranglers so I can compare. I am contemplating buying my first Jeep and don't have access to make these pics myself. I am, however, compiling a list of cool after-market accessories.

sunset, are you referring to the plastic factory steps or the Rubicon rail? I just want to make sure I get the info you need.

Thanks!

I'm not even sure what I am looking at in their small picture or how it would be on the vehicle in relation to your step sliders if I had both. I'm not quite visualizing it. Do you have an example of a vehicle with both the factory Rubi rails and your product? Maybe your pics could help me decide if I even needed to order the factory rail or just put that money towards your product. Thank you for any help on this.

The pictures above have the factory rubi rails. It is directly above our slider.

Happy to talk it out if that helps

Oh, wow, I didn't realize in your pictures I was seeing the Rubi rails. They look so narrow as compared to the small factory thumbnail picture where they seemed to have more width, an optical illusion that what I thought was horizontal surface in their thumbnail is mostly vertical surface, I now realize, having never seen them before. Seems a bit cheeky for Jeep to refer to them as "Step Assist" as their rails in your pictures are nothing I could place my foot on without trying hard, especially with the way they tuck under the curve of the body above them.

Thank you for this clarification to me.

Sunset, the Rubicon rails come standard on the Rubicon. Your picture from the Jeep website is the Heavy Duty rock slider with step assist. It is a +$995 option over what the standard rails shown in Adam’s pictures at the top. I was looking at the same thing and in talking to Adam, the GOAT sliders won’t work with the MOPAR rock slider w/step assist. After talking to him, I am going to just get the standard Rubicon rails and add GOAT sliders which will serve to protect and also be a step. It sounds like the step assist is a really narrow step from what I have heard from both the dealer and Adam. I think this will be a much better route for me and my needs.

Thank you for clarifying this. I'll set aside my analysis of that puny Jeep thumbnail until I locate a better picture of the Heavy Duty version but will do it elsewhere and not clutter up Adam's thread.
