Rhinebeck,

Remember back a few weeks or so ago I made an appointment (Ramsey Jeep) and showed up for my appointment and was told by service that I had to drive 450+ miles back to the dealer where I orginally purchased my Jeep. Really?? From Jeep Care going from leaving me a voicemail that all of the parts are on order (specifically naming the parts they authorized which was everything that I had issue with) to denying my request and only authorizing my streaking rear and 2 side plastic windows was an absolute slap in the face. I have gone through many levels at Jeep Care and have spoken to more than one of the Jeep Care specialists. Prior to the final denial another Jeep Care representative told me the all of the parts necessary to remedy my issues where simply pending the regional manager's approval and they are waiting on that. They assured me that it would be approved and it was just a formality after I quested them. Then wham I was denied everything except the replacement plastic windows.

Trust me I'm not going away with these issues and will take it to the next level.

Rhinebeck, Donā€™t you think that your being a little bit to harsh on JersetJeepGirl??
Maybe since her story seems to be Phooey to you, you should step up and help her out??
Maybe things in life have gone smooth for you regarding dealing with Jeep. Take some time to read all of the posts where Jeep dealerships and Jeep cares have done nothing at all to make things right by the customer. The parts manager at my local Auto Zone is going through the exact same thing, (Manager, so he know how to speak to people )white grill turning yellow, not Jeeps problem, ok how about giving me a break on the black satin grill he asks, sorry no break on the price was what he was told. He works 45 hours a week and has a family too,so he doesnā€™t have the time to get dicked around by Jeep or stay on the phone for unlimited time arguing with them. CJ Pony Parts was nice enough to give him the black satin grill at cost and ship it for free. So I guess thatā€™s a story that goes against everything going the way you want with Jeep

Actually, weeks ago I stepped up as you call it and offered to help @JerseyJeepGirl . I pm'd her and told her that anytime she or her significant other ever wanted to call me for help, to brainstorm, (in regard to flat towing or anything JL related) to feel free to do so. I gave her my phone number. I have done the same ... given my phone # out to quite a few guys here, that have in fact called me, and I have helped out.. I think with the Tazer JL alone, I have fielded 6 phone calls and a scad of pm's.

I also pm'd her back and forth a few times. I gave her info / good and bad on dealers in her/my area and pointed her to a service dept. that I thought might very well be a good one to go to. I also mentioned to forget @JeepCares and just go through FCA Customer Service or if necessary to email the CEO of FCA.

Regardless, if anyone else came here and said the dealership, etc. was not handling their yellow grill issues in one way or the other, I would say phooey to them also. I'd tell them get a set of balls so to speak and get after the dealership, go to a different dealership, contact FCA Customer Service, etc... FCA is not denying warranty fixes (especially to re paint) in regards to the yellowing grill.

JerseyJeepGirl, I had pm`d Bill about the issue with your grill. All is well between us and I had no idea to what extent he had gone through. I just misunderstood what was said. Bill is a hell of a guy and I hope if the time ever arrives I have him in my corner!

Posting here and communicating with @JeepCares is not going to get the job done so to speak in regard to your yellowing grill. Get a new service department, contact Jeep Customer Service by telephone, email the CEO of FCA and you will see resolution to this.

For the record, I think @JeepCares is a joke at best.

Deal with FCA Customer Service via telephone!

Why are YOU the only one that has been denied? You tell me.

YOU need to speak up in the proper manner and the proper place and push a tad harder so to speak.
Absolutely correct! I worked out getting a new grill and my dealer who I had very poor experience with is now doing everything he can to help. And I should mention rhinebeck01 was there for me also. My grill came in black and needs to be painted although I believe the factory ones were manufactured in color.

I'd keep a close eye on the issue. I'm currently working with Jeep Care with the grill issue on my brand new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport JL. It's white and the grill is beginning to yellow. As of now Jeep has declined my request to take care of the issue. Still working with Jeep Care and hoping they will ultimately take care of the issue.
Mine is doing the exact same thing! 2018, 2000 KM on it! Hopefully that is all I will be facing as it is on the recall for the welds as well!

Brandibabe,

Good luck. Jeep Care and FCA both denied my claim to address the discoloring grill under warranty yet they have approved replacement/repainting for others on this forum. You can see the color difference as plain as day. My new Jeep is less than 3 months old. They also denied other issues that I've reported which I believe were warranty related. At one point I was told by Jeep Care that they authorized all replacement parts to address my concerns then wham less than a week later they pulled the rug out from underneath me and pretty much denied everything with the exception of replacing my soft top rear and 2 side plastic windows that were streaking.

Shame on Jeep. Needless to say I am one unhappy 1st time Jeep buyer.

In my experience every dealer service department is different. I have seen some customers handled with no issue and others come in with the same problem only to be denied warranty help. Sometimes it takes a little "grease" to get things going your way ( and it should not by the way) .
But it is clearly a selective thing between the owner and the service department staff. Sometimes taking it above the service writers head works but i have seen it back fire if the service manager doesn't feel like helping you out. I have also seen where the service department gets there fill of you sort of speak and they can flag your warranty due to "issues" with after market parts or non dealer work so that even going to other dealers will not help as when they run the warranty it let's them know "someone doesn't like you or your Jeep"...
I have taken my new JLUR in for a inop LED turn turn signal only to be told it may not be covered as warranty as "it may be as a result of an accident" . Realizing I was not going to get along with this gentleman considering i had a 4 month old Jeep in absolutely pristine condition i backed out of his service department and drove 30 minutes further to another one where the problem was fixed without issue( loose ground wire) . One shop i felt welcome and taken care of and the other i felt like everything was going to be an argument and all they wanted to do was get rid of me.

Iā€™m not trying to belittle the problem but at least itā€™s only cosmetic and the grill can be easily replaced or painted unlike many of the other problems owners are experiencing with their new JLs like bad welds, bad steering, electrical and host of other reported issues.
The JL, fully loaded, is a 60K proposition so a little yellowing is a lot unacceptable. Would you allow your dentist to whiten all but your front two teeth on top and bottom?
