Depends on what is considered “major.” Only time it failed to work was when a sensor went out at 120k miles. I forget which sensor. Otherwise it’d be death wobble at 30k.

Cruise recall that involved almost every mopar for the past several years.
Tsb applied on power steering stopping for like half a second. Only happened twice, but I knew of the tsb and took it in.

Bought Dec. 4 2018.
Just over 2000KM I believe.
3.6 Automatic.
Only issues I’ve had this far is the ESS battery is needing to be replaced and the hitch wiring harness. Oh and the fuses half of them weren’t pushed in properly.

What year is your Jeep? 2018 JLUR
How many miles are on it? 10,050
What engine? 3.6
What was the first major mechanical problem and at what mileage approximately? None. Only had to be taken in for the cruise control recall.

Not sure where someone got the idea these engines won't last 75k. The Pentastars are known for being long-lived engines. I've seen a number with 300k plus on them. I'd bet the 2.0 will go far past 75k, too.

2018 JLUR
15k
3.6/manual
No major issues.

2008 JKUR
128k
3.8/manual
Transmission replaced at 116k. (Popping out of 3rd gear once/month. I wouldn't have replaced it if not under lifetime warranty. Jeep insisted on a new one.) New alternator at 127k surged and fried the PCM. 2nd new alternator and new PCM and all is well again. Old Jeep still runs/drives like new.

3.8’s get a bad rap too. Mine runs like a top at almost 140k and never once let me down. Super easy to work on too. Gets about 18mpgs combined. I know of 3.8’s with 200k miles plus. The pentastar of course is awesome and I’m sure the 2.0 will be just fine.

Yep, you can almost crawl inside the engine compartment with a 3.8 and the hood back against the windshield! I'm going to see how far this old 3.8 can go. I'm not planning on ever selling it. (Nor am I planning on ever selling the JL, for that matter.) I'll bet the JK is still running when the JM comes around in 10 or 11 years, too!

Only issues I have had are a leak on the front axle seal, and a rear defroster line that disconnected. Both were covered under warranty.

2018 Wrangler Unlimited .. At 850 miles got death wobble. I took it to dealer, they said parts are on back order for front end. I said you got to be kidding me.. What could of went wrong at 850 miles. Currently have 2,200 miles, never expericened wobble again. Its my first American vehicle since 1985, been a Toyota fan since.. 2005 Camry 290,000 miles . all original except front brakes tires and water pump. Changed spark pugs at 180,000. Still gets 34 mpg.

I'm actually looking for info specifically on the 3.6 since it has been out for a while. Also, it be would nice to what issues are arising with the 2.0T. I agree with you about the ESS.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Steve R.
Our 17JKU has approximately 32k on it. No major issues.
