There aren't any 18" that I know of.(yes I know, meant regular street/off road tires) 12.5 is 12.5". 13.5 is 13.5" 11.5 is 11.5". A 315/70r17 is basically the same size as a 315/60r20. sidewall is the only difference.

I'd expect the section width to be around 12.5" on 12.50 tire.

Combine that with the peanut gas tank that these 2drs have and the range is abysmal...😒
Sure miss the the 20gal tank in my '83
Never understood the small tank on Jeeps, not expecting a 48 gal tank like on my F 450 but they can do better I am sure

Screen shot, I too wondered about it and thought it might be CMs but that does not seem to computer, I can only assume it is a mistake.

if the tread width is 12.50 on a 70 profile tire then what would be the outer section width???? dunno
The 12.50 in a 35x12.50 tire is section width. Tread width is always narrower but how much depends on the tire. A low profile street tire will have wider tread than a high profile truck tire given the same section width.

Look back up on the 2 examples and you note Section Width, the 35 + 18 and the 315 = 12.7. The 35 is a LOT heavier. As far as both being E rated, this applies to "Carrying Capacity" aka Max Load. The 35 can carry 3195 lbs of weight at 65 psi, whereas the 315 carries 3195 lbs at 50 psi. They are both 10 ply "RATED" (does not mean they ARE 10 ply). The 315 is a lighter tire than the 35.

IOW the 35 is a bit tougher tire vs the 315, but they close. The 315 will give you a better ride to to a lower psi..

MISTAKE almost everyone makes: They move up to a tire that is bigger, badder and better. NOT knowing how much PSI to run they read the blackwall and it give the weight (3195 lbs @ 65 psi). So that tire with a weight on it of 3195 should run 65 psi. 3195 x 5 = 12,780 lbs...have you weighed your Jeep lately, does it weigh 12,780? NO, maybe ½ of that at best. So you mission if you chose to accept it is to determine how much PSI you put in that tire to carry its share of the weigh of your Jeep. Screw #2. The 65 psi resulted in a lot of dental work from fillings jarred out of the teeth. So they turn to the door jam and it says 37 psi. Well that does not work either since the psi applies to the OEM tire. starting to smell the coffee?

You need you use the water or dust or chalk test in order to ascertain your contact path and its resulting psi...
There is a typo or something in the table you provided, and in the above information. The section width of a 35x12.50 canNOT be 18................I mean, the tire is listed as being 12.50" wide so how can the section width be 18"?????
I also don't see the weight of the two different tires in the table? Or what specific model that table is referring to? As mentioned in other posts the specs of the same brand and type of tire in a 35x12.50R17 versus 315/70R17 with the same load range (for example both E load range) are very, very close to each other including the weight. If you look at the BFG KM3 spec sheet there is 0.1" difference in height and 0.5 lbs. difference between the two sizes.

My comment is make sure you are not over stating the difference between 4.10, 4.56, and 4.88 gear sets. If you start with an XR that comes standard with 4.56 gears to begin with, there is simply not much difference with 4.88's. I mean really, that is like 130 RPM at 65 mph. Sure, 4.88 is "better" in my opinion and if I had the choice I would get 4.88 definitely........but my point is people tend to way over exaggerate the difference. From my experience if you cover up the tach and have the average person drive a vehicle with 4.56 and an identical one with 4.88 they probably won't be able to feel the difference. Again, if I was ordering a new vehicle I would check the option for the 4.88 assuming it's not a lot of money. However if I found a good deal on a 4.56 equipped JL I wouldn't pass it up just because of the gears, and I certainly would not pay thousands of dollars for a shop to change out the gears from 4.56 or 4.88.
Same thing goes for 4.10 versus 4.56. I will say that quite a few people could notice the difference between 4.10 and 4.88...but that is a much bigger jump. 4.88 vs. 4.56 is only 7% different where as 4.88 vs. 4.10 is 19%.
To put this in a different perspective the person with 4.10's gets $100, the person with 4.56 gets $107, and the person with 4.88 gets $119. Yes the $119 is better than only $100 or $107, but how much "better" is it?

To both of your posts: Concur.

These charts are both GY Duratracks, as for the 18, who knows, but I just did a Screenshot, no more no less, where they got the 18 ?????

I made no comment on the 4:56. What I stated was I ordered the 4:88 on my JLR over the 4:10s and that is a big jump in performance when you go beyond the OEM 33 tires which is what I have...
