To the Jeepers far more experienced and knowledgeable than me, please help!

I’m looking to add a budget lift to my ‘21 Willys, where I might not have to replace the track bars, add a rear track bar relocation bracket, add geometry correction brackets for front LCAs, etc. So, I was thinking about looking into an XR suspension take off.

I currently run a stock Rubicon suspension (I added Rubicon springs to my Willys) and I run the longer front LCAs from the Mopar 2” lift.

My questions for you are as follows:

(1) What exactly do I need from the take off suspension that would be different on an XR than a standard Rubicon suspension (i.e. shocks, springs, end links, anything else?)

(2) What parts would I need to buy in the aftermarket? Since I currently have the Mopar 2” lift kit front LCAs on my Jeep, I wouldn’t need those. But I read somewhere I need 2” bump stops? Is this correct? Do I need to add anything else? Trying to make an exhaustive list of parts.

(3) Do you think it’d be possible to add Fox shocks from a Mopar 2” lift to this kit? Or since the XR is only 1.5” and the Mopar lift kit is 2”, this wouldn’t be a good idea?

Thanks so much for your help!

There are some items that are actually "built in" to the XR (track bar relocation, bump stops), so the swappable items are springs, shocks, and links. Isolators may be different, but probably inconsequential.

At minimum, you would want to protect the shocks by mirroring the stock XR bump extensions (1 3/8" front, the same or a little more in rear).

You could definitely run the Mopar 2" shocks using 2" of bump.

Track bar (axle centering) would be recommended, but even the Mopar skips that.

Thanks! Did you add longer sway bar links front and back?

Well, I've got really long ones, but for the XR swap, the XR has longer links.

Realistically you'll want QDs instead on the front of a Willys.
