Looking to trade locally with someone that’d like a Rubi hood for their Sport or Sahara. Yours needs to be an OEM aluminum version in perfect condition (as mine). Looking for $800 cash.

I'm not in a hurry for this, so I have no issue waiting around for someone local or willing to drive to me.

Thanks!

Out of curiosity, do you like the shape of non Rubicon hood better?
Fair question. The Rubicon is just too boisterous for my tastes. I’ve already removed all the decals and will be getting rid of the wheels (swapping to JTR wheels) and tow hooks. Also looking for a sport to get rid of the vents and allow me to run a solar panel of reasonable size.

Man if you get near SC let me know. I would be willing to do this. I have a flawless white sport Hood.

same if you get near ohio
Unfortunately, I don’t see driving east of Omaha any time soon. I do plan on a trip to Portland around March to pickup my Ursa Minor Top. I’ll probably be swinging down to Northern CA in my way back to CO.

am I missing something? What else comes with? You can get a Rubicon Hood for less than $800... so why trade AND pay more ? and theres two people that "seem" interested... so I must be missing part of how this used hood with decals removed is worth more than a new one AND give up our hood too?

are those two people real? seriously.

heres Vented Hood $333 just missing bezels and paint.
https://www.moparwholesaleparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-hood-68281965ae
Left Bezel $24.10
https://www.moparwholesaleparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-hood-bezel-left-68307289ad?c=cT02ODMwNzI4OUFD
Right Bezel 24.10
https://www.moparwholesaleparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-hood-bezel-right-68307288ad?c=cT02ODMwNzI4OEFD

and $10 a rattle can(dont forget to get clearcoat)
https://www.moparwholesaleparts.com...coat-5163714ab?c=bD0yJm49U2VhcmNoIFJlc3VsdHM=

so hes asking ... $800 cash plus a hood, for a hood you can buy for $381 New and paint yourself. and then sell your hood for $300.
Thats valuing that paint job at an impressive ~$1000.

edit: I just called for a shipping quote as their website wouldn’t give one... $265 to Colorado!!! So yeah, I’m asking for $100 more to save all that time and effort and for a superior material and paint job.

I think your analysis is taking every liberty possible to create a larger variance than really exists.

No shipping is included, it equates a spray paint job to a factory paint job, includes the steel hood rather than the aluminium one (looks like some other part numbers as well) no taxes, no allowance for what someone’s time is worth, assumes you could get anything for the sport hood, and I’m sure I could go on.

Is my price fair? I hope so... otherwise I’ll have a hard time selling and it appears it’s relatively fair as I’ve had some interest already.

I imagine you can find it on a number of other sites with cheaper shipping. I was proving a point, not doing all the legwork. You can also get it professionally painted for less than your ask.
You might sell it at that price, but it will be to someone with more money than sense. You're also asking for their hood on top of it mate. I'd wish you good luck, but I don't honestly.

The below prices are shipping, hood, and $100 additional for hood vents, seals, hood prop, noise suppression, etc (this will be very much over $100), and tax:

All that for a hood you have to put together and paint yourself??

Best of all, do you even realize you're not comparing mine to the same hood? You've linked an export hood which are heavier and not even the same design!

Export:
Jeep Wrangler JL WTT: My white Rubicon hood for your white Sport/Sahara Hood +cash 111-

Domestic:
Jeep Wrangler JL WTT: My white Rubicon hood for your white Sport/Sahara Hood +cash 222-

I was proving a point, not doing all the legwork.
You did the bare minimum and made the difference as large as possible. Even suggested spray paint the hood! I'm not saying you were purposefully being deceitful... but never the less your "point" was.

I'd wish you good luck, but I don't honestly.
I'm heart broken.

Well, good luck with the hood swap...
One thing though, I beg you. Do NOT use a Nascar garage to replace your hood...
:CWL:

too soon?

No clue... I’m not sure what you’re referring to.

Trying to be delicate here, lets try some word play:
Nascar, over-reaction, Buba Wallace, garage door pull

Now imagine, a freekin' white hood in the garage...
