Thanks. It's 2am I decided to call it a night it's all I have left to do. I greatly appreciate your reply and sincerity.

Some of the members here forget what it is like to be new or learn something. I could have sent this out to get done but I enjoyed every curse word that came out of my mouth.

My dad served and protected this great country and I now do the same. I unfortunately, I didn't learn alot of the things my dad knows because of this.

So many people here have been a resource to me and my new JL journey. I greatly appreciate you. To those with your wise ass comments to those who post "noob" "dumb" questions... Take a minute to remember that you were once taught these things. You never know the other person's situation. Don't be a tool... Help them pick the right tool.

Sorry, was trying to give a warning with a little levity. You seemed unsure of how to power the device (switch, always hot, or hot when running), so I threw in the quip about draining the battery in case you hadn’t thought of it.
Sounds like you understood the monitoring feature you had though, so your camera won’t drain your battery. Enjoy!

Absolutely it was really the easiest part of the project LOL.

I have the safety features so I dropped the windshield... Well let me not lie I couldn't get the wipers off as evidently multiple people have the same issue you need a special tool for the first time... So doing it by myself I would hold the windshield.... Ran it through the upper trim took off the passenger oh shit bar and the speaker grill... And ran it straight down with a trim tool. I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow but it's all buttoned up except for the footwell now.

Getting it to the back was the biggest problem. And I managed to already knock off the back camera because the sticky sucks on plastic so I have to come up with plan B for the back camera.

All in all if I can do it anyone can do it. For someone who is handy (clearly not me) it would have been a two hour project at most. I'm just learning all this stuff... My dad usually helps show me this stuff... But he has COVID-19 🙄 so I was on my own. However, definitely got a greater sense of satisfaction.

If anyone has suggestions on the back camera for a two door with a soft top let me know. I have the Blackvue 900x.

I'm gonna try to hit up the guy who fabricated his own mount for the front to see if he can do something for the back as well if I don't get any ideas. I'm not exactly looking to gorilla glue it to my 50k ride 🤣
I am reinstalling the 750 I had in my Ram 1500. Saw a video of a guy installing the 2 camera BlackVue in his Jeep, and he put the rear camera in the center of the rear roll bar. That way he could see the cargo area as well as take the top off

Hopefully that link works

That is exactly what I did however the first one fell off but I think I didn't hold it there long enough I'm hoping that the second one is going to hold better it seems to be already

My bad bro... I was just frustrated after hours of trying to install this thing by myself. I probably went a lil Karen 🤣. All good though!!! Thanks

yes, you need to connect all three on the cams hardwire kit. battery , accessory and ground. he is correct that there are seperate wires for this. this will connect your camera not using any of the switches, unless you really want ability to turn it off .pic is from another post in forum.

Thanks for the graphic, that makes it easy! Just checking…for wire #5, that would be used for an accessory that you only want to have constant power when the jeep is running right?

yeah, so 5 (ignition) will power up when you start jeep, 6 is on all the time. Some items require both soon it cant tell when jeep is on or off like a dash cam, those 2 are independent of switches.

Also keep in mind you can go into the config settings and change the 1-4 wires to be either ignition or battery connected, depending on your needs. I wired my rock\whip lights to #1 and configured it to be "battery" connected. This way I can turn on my lights while parked and no ignition on using the aux switch.

btw, I found my wires under the hood beside the battery. Maybe they are in multiple locations.....

I read after, they are in both locations - the passenger kick panel area and by the battery under the hood.

@JimmyZ

Just to clarify.... inside... (passenger side ) Aux bundle is not found behind the passenger side "kick panel" or "kickplate" on a JL or JT.

Not sure why the gal that did that graphic put that info on there.... That into has caused lots of guys/gals to pull the passenger kick panel for no reason...

YES, there is a very good grounding point behind the kick panel....

Anyway, the passenger Aux bundle, itself, is not behind any panel!

Where did you find your inside Aux bundle?

Though, there can be the exception, most will find the passenger side, Aux bundle if they go to the passenger side and look to the very back of the foot well. At the top of the foot well, tucked in there, (carpet will hide it often) you will find the Aux wire bundle.

It could be tucked into a few different places up there..... but it is not behind the kick plate where the very good grounding point noted in the pic below is found..

Jeep Wrangler JL WTF Where are my AUX wires?!?! footground

For engine compartment I like this ground point as it is not painted, will not snap off, easy access..

Well said. Mine was pretty much exactly where you said, under the glove box area deep in the footwell, wrapped up better than a trojan at a whore house 🤣

Thanks for the share. Took a bit to find the harness and while I was looking by the kick panel I found another pigtail. Anyone know what it is? I have circled it in red below.
