I looked at the Lang and it’s not for me. Couple reasons. The first and biggest is I am not mechanically inclined so getting the proper tension on those damned straps will be a problem and I inevitably will break the hard top in some fashion.

2nd...I am not at all a fan of hooks. They tend to bend, or slip.

but mainly the first reason. The straps scare the bejeezus out of me

I hear ya! However, this scares me much less than me trying to hang a ceiling mounted hoist

facts. I would have ZERO chance of doing that right. Just give me something I can install, crank or wind and take all adjustment and alignment out of my hands.

So, I decided to trust my abilities and install the ceiling hoist. And it came out GREAT! The first few times using it are cumbersome, but once you kinda figure out how to perfectly align your Jeep underneath it; it's super easy! I highly recommend going this route.

Are you still in the market for a top lift pro? We are getting a sky one touch today and will not need it. I live just north of Philly, so we could try to find a meet up. I was one of the early adopters. The unit is probably 4 or 5 years old. It works great and well worth the money.
