Hey guys we have a 2020 Sahara with the 2.0 turbo. Today we got our first oil change under the Jeep wave program. Being the nerd I am I looked at the paperwork my wife left me on the counter. I for whatever reason looked up the oil filter and it appears to me the dealer used the wrong oil filter? They installed filter part number 4105409AC and according to my research this motor takes filter part number 04892339AB. Maybe it’s just an updated part number or something but I couldn’t figure it out googling for answers. Maybe it’s no big deal either but I just want to make sure. Any help or insight would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

I just tried a Google search as well; that filter usually goes on the early JK Wranglers and other vehicles. I don't know if it cross-references, maybe the thread pitch and mounting surface are the same? Or maybe it was just a typo on their end? It should have the MO-339. You could always slide under and take a look, it's on the driver side just above the oil pan.

Thanks. Great minds think a like. She’s at work but when she gets home I plan to do just that and hope maybe they just have some standard paperwork mistake. I had a horrible jiffy lube experience almost 30 years ago now with a cross threaded drain pan bolt so I’ve done my own ever since then. I thought with the Jeep wave program that I would go ahead and let them do it. Hope I don’t regret it. Doubt it’s the end of the world they might be pretty close specs wise anyway. I did see they at least say they used synthetic oil so if that’s true that’s nice.

Ok so I got under there last night and checked it out. The filter was spun so i couldn’t completely see the part number but I was able to see a m2b33 on the filter. I typed that in a google search and came up with one hit of a eBay listing that shows part number Genuine Mopar Filter-Engine Oil 4892339BB

So that’s pretty close to what I show the right part number of 4892339AB but it’s still a different fitment

That should be the correct filter for the 2.0T. I cross-referenced a Chrysler Sebring with 2.4 engine (that's what shows on your Ebay link) on the Mobil 1 website for their filter. The Sebring takes a Mobil 1 oil filter part #: M1-113A. The 2.0T also takes the M1-113A oil filter. So you have the correct filter.

The two most important fitment factors are Thread and Diameter. The thread for the 2.0T is M22x1.5 and the diameter is 3.15". The other factor for size is the Height. Height is the only variable you can change as you cannot change the stock thread count or oil filter adapter diameter.

I use the Mobil 1 M1-212A filter on my 2.0T as it is 1.25" longer than a stock size oil filter. This gives me slightly more total oil in the system and a large filter surface area. Is it really needed? Does it help? It is my belief that more filtering media surface area can never be a bad thing. I used longer than stock filters on my TJ, XJ, ZJ, and now both of my JL's.

Whenever choosing a non-stock filter, make sure it has a bypass valve if the stock filter has one.

Use the website: oilfilterdata.com to search for stock and oversize replacement filters.

Here is a list of oversized filter replacements for the 2.0T engine from oilfilterdata.com. As you can see below, some of the filters diameter's aren't 3.15, so I'm not sure if they will actually work. That's why I stick with filters that are same diameter, just longer in height.

Man that’s why I love these types of forums. Thanks for taking the time to post the explanation and the added info. I’ll sleep better knowing our 50k investment is just fine and now when I run out of free oil changes I’ll know what Mobil filter I need. Much appreciated!
