I bought my first Wrangler, ‘22 JL 2 dr Sport S 4cyl turbo and have been a little disappointed when looking into upgrade options for it (ie led headlights, DRL, and other items I’ve looked for over the last couple of years). Most of these seem to be more related to the fact that I have the “Sport”. In most vehicles it seemed more like the “subclass” of the vehicles had more to do with the options it came with more so that what you could add (or maybe I’m just off in my assumption) however there definitely seems to be major differences in the Wranglers. Long story short, I have 36,600 (emphasis on the “600” past the factory warranty) and it’s in the shop for some oil valve repair. I think I’m going to get lucky and they are going to be able to use the 50k power train portion of my factory warranty (thank God!) but the service underwriter told me that my 4cyl is the hardest engine to work on. This scares me as to what I do have in store for the future (as I’ve already had it in the shop no less than half a dozen times for warranty work over the past <3 years for warranty work) so I’m considering selling and buying a different engine and subclass to start over. Let the discussion begin! Sport, Sport S, Sahara, Rubicon & Willys

I'm a bit confused. You're seeing more options for trim levels that aren't Sport? The options for LED headlights and DRLs should be identical, no matter the trim.

Maybe it’s the different trim packages. I ended up finding the Oracle bi-LED’s and I love those, but I was also trying to find some of the led fender lights to match and turn signals and such. I kept striking out when they all said does not fit sport model. It’s been a while. I gave up. My Sport doesn’t have the DRL option anyways so they wouldn’t work.

That's a lot of warranty work IMO. That wrangler woulda been gone if it were me.
That’s what I’m thinking about doing now. Even considering buying a used and upgraded model but don’t want to end up in an even worse situation.

I'm with ya. IMO, all manufactures are junk these days. You just gotta hope you have good luck with one. I had a 2.0T in my last wrangler, didn't keep it long enough to have any problems, but I went with the 3.6 this time. No way I'm dealing with that 2.0.

I was excited that it got as good of gas mileage as it did and don’t really need the extra power. Clearly the engine maybe the problem though. I think it’s the same engine the use in the 4xe.

Yes, the 2.0 is the standard engine in these wranglers. Luckily the 3.6 is still available
