I recently traded in a 2018 F150 5.0 that got around 21 mpg highway and 16 mixed. I expected from my previous JKUR's that my mpg would drop significantly...or at least not get more than 16 daily commuting. I gotta say I'm pleasantly surprised so far. I'm sure it has a bit to do with the 3.42 gear ratio compared to the 4.1 in the JKUR but I didnt expect this big of a difference.

To be clear, this was a 78 mile road trip that pretty much threw it all in there. I started in Yorktown, VA and went to Richmond, VA. It was a mix of backroads, city driving (Williamsburg), state highway (55 mph avg), and then finishing with some interstate speeds (65-70 mph). I would say I was mostly in 4th/5th gear doing around 55 mph. On the return trip I actually did a bit better at 26.2 mpg avg...but forgot to take the dang picture...

Anyhow...heres the proof.

LOL! Consider yourself really lucky! I am averaging 11.2 and I am excited when I get 14.7 down hill on a windy day! Of course my 37's don't help!... nor my lead foot! :)

I have a Sierra, Unlimited, 3.6L, 8 speed with stock 18" wheels. I'm just back from a 5600 mile road trip from NH to Southwest Texas and return. We drove mostly Interstate or equivalent. We drove 65MPH to 75MPH and even 80+ in Texas. We got a minimum of 22+ and a Maximum of 24+ with an overall average of over 23MPG. I was very pleased with the JL's on-road and off-road handling.
Made a similar trip, about 3500 miles.
Sahara stock 18s, 3.6, auto, 22-24 mpg.

Alright, average mpg was 25.2.

Actual hand math was 22.9 (lets just call it 23). Still not bad, definitely higher than expectations with street tires on a stock Sport 2.0T auto

I got 26 mpg average on a 3 hour trip to sierras this weekend. 2 door wrangler is lighter, so that probably helps.

Only thing I did not like was spots in high wind, I thought the soft top was gonna blow off at one point, scary whistling in extreme gusts

‘18 JLU Sport 2.0 auto here. Bone stock.
Nearly every morning, I drive 9 miles on a relatively flat paved country road to the ranch on which I’ve leased hunting rights.
Going 45-55mph, I get right around 30mpg.
Then I drive around for an hour or two on trails, some of which are really rough, in 4wd, both high and low range, while my dogs run/hunt hogs. 0-10mph. I get 9-10mpg there.
On the highway, at 60mph on cruise control, around 26. (I’m almost never in a hurry.)
Overall (this is a guess), about 23.
I’m very pleased, and amazed at how little variation there is between different conditions (except for 4wd wheeling).
My Jeep replaced a 2012 Ram Cummins Dually. It got about half the mpg, and was no fun to drive.
This dovetails nicely with the fact that the Jeep has made driving fun again, so I do a lot more of it, but it costs much less.
I just love the little rascal.
It would probably do a bit better if I could keep my foot out of it, but I can’t. Don’t want to.
I just love the feeling of that turbo kicking in.

I can’t figure out where to fin trip info on my JL. Seems it should be more obvious? How do I get to the screen that looks like this? Or something that shows miles until empty??
Found it! On the steering wheel, left side arrows.

JLUR 3.6 auto with 35" BFG KO2 tires and I have about 16 mpg. I think that it's quite good. I drive normally, about 70-75 mph on a highway. If I wanted a better mpg, I would buy a Prius :)

Yep, I have no idea where the rumor that Jeeps get bad fuel economy came from. These things are great all things considered.

I'm averaging 17.5(Autosist App) these days, on the stock rim and tires I was low 19's.

But part of that is the tourist season here, as in January/February I was averaging low-mid 16's, it's been on the climb the last 4 weeks now that my commute has gone from 50 mins down to 25-30, and I put the new wheels on in the peak of season.

My F150 only gets over 12mpg when its parked and not running, normal average is 10, so the JLU feel surprisingly great on gas.

Just got back from a trip between Charleston, SC and Raleigh, NC. On the way back to Charleston in a 2 door Sport S, 3.6L auto with the cruise control set to 65, the on-screen estimator showed 29.6 MPG. After filling up at the end of the trip, I had driven 253 miles and used 8.754 gallons for 28.9 MPG. I love my jeep!
