Lets say you go in for an oil change and a dealer walks up to you and says

“I can get you into a Gladiator and you won’t lose any money on the deal, your trade in will match the price of the Gladiator. Please, I need to sell one of these, I got kids man.”

Would you be tempted to trade for a brand new Jeep or do you just love your two door too much?

Right now my trade in is worth 2-3k less than what I was offered for a Willys Gladiator, and I’m tempted, but a 2 door just feels right. JTs are cool as hell too but it’s just not the same. Now if they had offered me a 392 I would be on here asking for the best places to sell my blood for gas money.

JTs would be cool if they didn't expect a premium for the name "jeep", so sorry, I have a real pickup, and a 2dr rubicon, no thanks. I got kids too.

If it’s a left over diesel, the only engine they had with PU torque then maybe we can talk, otherwise hell no !
They actually have one but they want 70k for it. Like I love Jeeps and all but if I was to spend 70k on a car with reliability issues it would be a 718 Boxster.

A 2 door without the bed would be perfect, I would make that trade in a heartbeat.
so...just swapping your 2 door for a no miles 2 door? lmao

Naw, I want the 2 door with the bed. I like mine too much to just get rid of it for another 2 door.

No, not even if I had a big-ass 4-door, I still wouldn't want an even larger Jeep. Guess it would be great for picking up the wife's boyfriend and their kids from soccer practice

Now, if you were offering me the non-existent J6 2-door pickup, then hell yeah. That or the 392 are the only Jeeps I'd want as much or more than mine. Stick the new turbo inline 6 in a small 2-door JT and you got yourself an offer I couldn't refuse.

FJ 45- findable , Chevy clone 6 so fairly simple V8 swap ( friend did an FJ40) No ? Then a CJ10- Nissan I-6 diesel or AMC 4 or 6 if Chevy preferred, D60 , good platform but rare.here. ?

If you "need" a truck it certainly wouldn't be a JT... That's about the only reason I can see anyone switching, unless perhaps you're in need of towing a bit more and just have to have a Jeep looking tow vehicle. Then again... Just a get an actual truck, you'll be happier in every single metric.

OTOH, if you're into overlanding for extended periods I suppose they're cool.

I've owned several 2-door Jeeps, up through my old 2018 JLR. I thought a Gladiator could be cool when word of them first came out, but like others, I had hoped to see a 2-door version of it. No real interest in having the 4-door Gladiator as it is. I got one as a rental on a trip earlier this year...thing felt like I was driving a city block, as much longer than the 2-door JL I was used to driving. It was cool to have as a rental compared to the junk I usually get stuck with, but I couldn't see owning one.

That said...I did finally leave the 2-door Jeep life last month...for a 392. Totally different animal there! ?
