I would not order another jeep at this time. I think I will wait when all hell breaks loose and cars become dirt cheap again just like in the 08 crash.

Hell no. I gave up on the ordered unit and bought from inventory at a different dealer.

It’s not been built and I get nothing but lies from the dealer and Jeep chat. The emailed promised delivery date is long past with no explanation.

I will probably replace with another brand when I get tired of this one because Jeep customer service is the pits. Delays I can understand. Lies and BS, and building units ordered later than mine -with the same options- is not acceptable.

Nope. Never again. Not sure I still want the one I ordered... 5 months ago. Still not even scheduled to be built.

Order placed May 10, 2018 and arrived at my dealer on June 11, 2018. 32 days.

If I had the extra cash I would order a 392 today. Absolutely love this vehicle.

Certainly any issues that Jeep is facing currently are being felt by all the other manufacturers as well. Hang in there and I hope you get your Jeep soon.

What issues with the build process? I don't understand what issues you're having with Jeep that isn't worse with other manufacturers?

I ordered a 2021 JLR in May 2021. It was delivered in 8.5 weeks.
I ordered a 2022 JLR in Dec 2022. It was delivered in 11 weeks.

I ordered a 2021 Ram truck on 2/26/2021 and am hoping they build it this year.
I ordered a 2021 Ford F150 on 5/4/21. It was delivered late last week (a few days ago).
I ordered a 2021 Ford Bronco on 1/23/21. I cancelled my order in May 2021 when I was told it wouldn't be built in 2021, possibly well into 2022.

To answer your question more directly, if I wanted a 2023 JLR, I'd order one.
Well, first off, I don’t think the issues with any other make or model serve as an excuse.
My Jeep was built in January, sat in one lot for a time, then was moved to long term storage 1/25. Sat there while other Jeeps were shipped out that were built well after mine. No explanation at all as to reason. Then on March 25, it was loaded on a truck. Three other JLs going to my dealer also were put on a truck. Those three others arrived at my dealer on Monday 3/28. No one can tell me where it is. The GM of my dealer has been in contact with Jeep, and Jeep is going through the lots in Toledo looking for it As they think it may not have left Toledo. A ‘specialist’ was assigned to find it; they won’t tell me the persons name and when I call the number they gave me, it says ‘mailbox full’ and then hangs up.
Personally, I think if some fort was put into communication it would work wonders. Yet it seems that as time goes on, less and less usable information is provided.
As it is now, we are all left to guess, why one JL is built, while another order just sits. Why one is shipped out while another is left behind.

Huh, context. The "issues" you're wondering about, and the decision-making of others, is based on your experience ordering a vehicle. That could have been included in the original post.

I don't think there's a problem with the way they're building Jeeps. They build them as they can, and prioritize based on shipping and parts available.

The problem as I see it, is communication and tracking. People don't mind waiting a reasonable time if they are kept up to date with ACCURATE information on when their vehicle will arrive, and the expected wait time when ordered.

Would I order another? Ask me again, if/when I get mine! Jeep has predicted it will arrive before the 22nd but my dealer says before the 30th.

Yes I would order again. My 21 JLUR was ordered May 9th 21 and was parked in my driveway on June 6th 21.

I just ordered at the right time with the right options.

I would 100% order another JL...As long they offer a 2-door option! Would love Jeep to show a little more 'love' for the 2-door however: An XR package & a higher output engine option would top my list...

Now to answer the OP's question about current build process...EVERYONE is having similar or WORSE issues...I ordered a new TRX November 26th and it just arrived at the dealer yesterday! Now I received my TRX before some others who ordered long before me, by the same token a friend who ordered from a different dealer a month after me received his TRX 2 weeks ago. A lot has to do with the dealer, how a rig is optioned, dealer distance from the plant and just luck of the draw...
A friend and client waited over 8 months for his new Super Duty Ford!
Let's not even get started on the Bronco wait times...

Ordered 12/21/21 still in production scheduling. 4-5 weeks ago I found the same jeep with a few added options I had not considered at another dealer and bought it. Plan to take the one I have on order as well. One for me and one for my wife!

Curious to know how many would consider ordering another JL considering the issues with the build process. When you answer, please say how long from order to delivery, assuming you have received yours. If you haven’t received yours yet, when you ordered and what stage your order currently is at.

I think about how this has all gone, and it seems most if not all that bail on their orders still seem to end up with a JL. My point being that there is no incentive for Jeep to fix this if they still sell Jeeps.

Thoughts?
People pose these type of questions when we are still in a world wide pandemic and an unprecedented supply chain/parts/transportation shortage. I think Jeep is doing remarkably well getting things built and delivered considering the global environment. Hell yeah I’d order again, and again, and again. As a matter of fact I’m waiting for another order right now.

What? There's been a global supply chain disruption that's impacting the entire industry. It's not a question of if that disruption will impact production but how much.

What are you going to do, buy another make/model? Get used to disappointment. Yeah it sucks but Jeep is handling it better than most.

If I wanted another JL I would order another JL. It isn't something from Amazon. It takes time. It isn't eligible for same day shipping. If ordering, someone has to have realistic expectations for the stuff going on today, with parts shortages and such. If you think another manufacturer can do it better, go ahead and order from them, and let us know how it went.
