Show him the Star Case and show him there is more to the treatment of these issues than that. Sometimes you have to show the service techs and reps how to do their own job, or find a better dealer. One thing you can do easily is show him where it says to loosen and then retorque every bolt. Then apply the new alignment speficiations. That might be enough. If not, look at the new track bar and also examine the drag link joint where it connects to the pitman arm. It pretty much has to be something in that chain of parts.
Thanks for the advice. Is there a Star Case number I can direct him to? I am not an expert on the Jeep/Fiat service system. I usually take care of my own vehicles...

The number is S1819000003. I'd also PM @JeepCares and have them start a case for you. I've found them to be extremely helpful.

I have a 2018 lju that has been at the dealers three times for the ā€œdeath wobbleā€. I drive primarily highway miles without any suspension modifications. At about 28,000 miles I ran over a bridge expansion joint and had my first taste of the death wobble. Took the Jeep into the dealer and they replaced the steering damper... I am now at 32,000 miles and have had the steering damper replaced three times by the same dealer!!!
The last replacement was ā€˜an upgraded aftermarket unitā€™. Over the last weekend the problem has returned. I have been asking the service manager if the steering issue could have a different root cause... I donā€™t think the dealerships or ā€˜techniciansā€™ have the ability to do a real diagnostic. ā€˜The tech guide says wobble is steering damperā€™. Apparently it isnā€™t.

I also own two Jeep JKs. A 2014 that my wife drives and a 2008. My 2008 has close to 300,000 miles on it... I feel safer driving it than itā€™s 2018 replacement. (Yes I still have the old Jeep).

Where can I turn to get this taken care of?
I spent a lot of money on a Jeep I donā€™t feel safe driving.

I have a 2018 Sahara unlimited jl with 8500 miles. I experienced the death wobble a short time after I bought the vehicle . I have had the steering dampiner
Replaced once. The same issue presented itself again within 30 days I am having the same part replaced again tomorrow morning. I am being told the replacement part is the same as the last and will also fail . I asked my dealer what else they can do to fix the problem and they do not have an answer. This is my third jeep and I am very frustrated. Thoughts?
My fully stock Jeep is going in tomorrow for the second time in 60 days for the same thing.....I'm sure they'll put a Band-Aid fix on it like they did with you.....

Just FYI, recently bought 2018 Wrangler unlimited Sahara Edition (new but just purchased two weeks ago) Downloaded Uconnect App the night I bought it saw the recall. Contacted dealer I bought it from the next day and they told me they had part in stock but I would have to leave it. I told them I couldnā€™t leave it as I live 30-40 minutes away and I would contact my ā€œlocalā€ dealer. A few days later the called me back about repair. The sent the salesman to my home with a loaner car, took my Jeep back to their facility, and after about four hours the salesman just brought the Jeep back. Smooth as silk. Either they are concerned about liability or just really want my business. Either way, Great customer service.

Hello Everyone,
New to the forum but wanted to share having same problems. I have a 2018 JLU (22k miles) and had experienced no problems driving. Received recall notice, went for fix (dealer replaced SS), and have had problem continuously get worse over past month.
I have taken back to dealer two more times since then and keep getting told everything is tight and fine. I was even told by service manager to avoid driving on the road I take everyday for work.
Finally got case number and it is going back in tomorrow. We will see if they replace SS again. I suggested they install upgraded aftermarket but was told they would not do that but I could. I should not have to pay for a problem that is still covered under warranty!!

Find another dealership. Something is off and if they told you donā€™t drive certain road. I wouldnā€™t want them working on my jeeps
