If you're talking about actual fasteners not being tightened down then air pressure will have little impact BUT, having too much air (a notorious issue with JLs and JTs) will feel like a loose suspension. As @SophieNoel said, it would be very 'squirrely'. Her Jeep felt like it could not track straight at all, and leaned right. We lowered it to 35lbs and all was good.

Think of too much air in a tire like a balloon. Over inflated tires round the contact patch and you have less tire on the road (see pic below). That will have a huge effect on a straight axle truck, even bigger than a passenger car.

Agreed ..and I too notice that the dealer always over inflates but the point im making is this.. last week just got my Jl back from a second dealer with my pull to the right issue. The first said they gave me an alignment and everything else checks out..drive the vehicle just a few seconds and notice that it still pulls to the right maybe worse. SO I left there and looked into another dealer ..a few months later....when they did the alignment there was an obvious difference felt .. even though they insisted it was fine and said I don't need anything done on it. I complained to the manager and had him ride ... as much as he tried keeping the vehicle straight he couldn't deny anymore theres an issue.. their machine discovered that my left front was way off... and got it to spec .... it dindt fix the pull to the right completely but made it hella better .. it no longer rides like some the people describe theirs .. still not perfect but much better.. apart from that, they found suspension components loose ..mind u it was like this straight from the factory.. with these tightened ( they didn't want to tell me which ones ...also, looks like they tightened the screw on the steering box ) It made all the difference. Now my vehicle rides much better even over inflated in the 40's PSI then when I was riding on it in the 35's PSI before the last dealer. I like it lower because it put a bit of more comfort in the ride but even though they're overinflated now the JL is much more manageable now .

the Steering box, chassis mount point, and the bolts that hold it to the chassis are a weak point on the JL/JT line, even after they upgraded the boxes to all steel. I’m not surprised at all that this being loose cause you major issues handling!

I have not tried the Synergy sector shaft brace, but may at some point since I’m going bigger tires on the JT. That would help there too if you off road a lot. A stock Jeep should not need it (just a good tightening).

Haha... paid cash for my JLURD...
That’s not very financially savvy for someone with your deep pockets given the auto loan rates available at credit unions and the money that could be made if you invested the cash and pocketed the spread over a 5 year period.

Maybe chat with an FA Instead of coming on here to flex… you would have more “cash” 🤷‍♂️

called Jeep customer service tonight, and told them how I was handled. How the dealer literally gave me my vehicle back and said they have no idea. ...didnt offer to give me loaner. Used all my gas test drives etc and did not fill it back up(left me on E) until I persisted they had to....Just a absolute terrible dealership. How can you not find a SQUEAKING noise?

LOL...

Your interpretation of cash is to literal. It's you who needs a good FA.

The tightening of the screw made it more responsive to input from the steering wheel but what really helped was when ( maybe tie rods? ) were tightened . the Jeep tracks way better .. the funny thing is they always insist on the Jeep thing theory .. but when the alignment came back then they say oh it was off.. even though they insisted nothing was wrong. ..and act like bungholes about too.. saying that Ive never driven a Jeep and such...This is just one of the many reasons many don't want dealer service.

100% with you there. We have not had a car in a dealership or any other shop in over 20 years for anything, period. I bought a lift and that was that.

With Jeeps, I usually loosen the track bar and suspension bolts, then tighten them to factory specs. I guess it’s time to include the title rods and steering box to that list!

With those loose I could see your alignment drift for sure. Good info!

Heres the thing ..I didn't leave them with smiles when I picked up mine. They sure as hell didn't want to deal with me . So I can't exactly tell u what it was they tightened. all I know that suddenly it was nowhere as bad as it used to be. During hard braking I could always feel like it wanted to go sideways so I told them I know better.. lI look at this way. I shouldn't have to get my hands dirty on a brand new vehicle so when I get a chance I will check the play on the shaft to the steering box .. as I know it was pretty loose even with 50 miles on it.

I’m not even sure what that means…What else can you pay with, trinkets?

When you buy a car you can pay “cash” or an installment contract ie a loan. I guess you could trade your Pokémon cards 🤷‍♂️ Either way you aren’t making sense.

OP - regarding the “pull” to the right… is this your first Jeep or solid front axle vehicle? Also, is this an XR? Just curious. I’m not too familiar with the XR but I doubt Jeep did anything special to address the caster with all of these factory “lifts.” Even the longer lower control arms (that come with the Mopar lifts, for example) don’t get it to the ideal caster. You need adjustable upper or lower arms. The track bar is likely the same length too. This, coupled with over-inflated tires, will exacerbate the natural drift from road crown. But if this is the case, you would also experience drift to the left too, if the road graded as such. As said above lower the tires pressure to around 35psi. Good luck.
