I’m installing old school KC halogen Daylighters on the front bumper of my Wrangler, and wiring them into the factory aux switches. The halogens together draw in excess of 15 amps, so I am planning to wire them into one of the 40 amp circuits, and reduce the fuse to 20 amps.
My concern is that the Daylighters come with what appears to be 14 gauge wire, but the 40 amp leads from the aux switches appear to be 12 gauge wire. Am I creating a potential problem by connecting the 12 gauge lead to the 14 gauge KC wiring?
