I think it's a shame that wiper blades only lasted 20,00 miles on a new wrangler with no ice, snow or harsh weather. Not much rain either.

All wiper blades these days don't last. I am constantly changing them on my F150. The best I've tried were PIAA super silicone blades. They lasted a year before any vibraitng chatter or permanent streaks started.

Here on Maui I'm lucky to get a year. For Christmas I throw in a set for each of my daughters cars from "Santa" so they get new ones at least once a year. I HATE NOISY WIPER BLADES. Sorry for yelling, it's just my thing.

My factory set lasted about 2 years but no wear and tear from snow and ice here in south Texas, but then they just split one day so put on a set of Rain-x Latitude so we will see how long these last. My rear factory is still doing great but it rarely gets used

I agree, the factory blades are not very good.

I just swapped mine for the winter with a set of ANCO 16” winter blades.

PIAA's and Rain-X's silicone blades have been the best I've used, though they only make it about a year out here in the desert, the sun just beats the up

Bosch Icon, has lasted me about 2 years with no noise or streaking. Most blades last less than 6 months.

This is bizarre to me... Been working in the auto industry since the mid 90’s and I’ve always heard the rule of thumb for blade replacement is 12 months. I replace mine every year and have never had a complaint.

The things some people complain about...

I was always told to swap every 6 months, never heard wiper life expressed in terms of mileage. In practice, I swap mine about once a year as well. Never had a problem.

Mileage has zero to do with it. Time and conditions dictate end of life on blades. Not using them in sun and heat is worse than using them in rain.

I use Rain-X on my windshield. Seems to help prolong the life of the blades a bit.

20k? Just put RainX on mine at 5500 miles. Replace wife's Regal GS blades every 10k. Wipers have a hard life.

Same here. Many years ago it was the standard to replace every 12 months for a couple of dollars. Now we have many brands wanting $20 per blade. My OEM and relatively cheap blades last 2+ years now but the vehicles are parked in the garage. The extreme outside temps whether cold are hot seem to kill any blade in about 12 months.

i'll second that. i had a set of bosch icon on my 07 grand cherokee for 2+ years and they still good as new. i've had other brands and they do work as well. when its time to replace my jl wipers, i'll be getting the bosch icon.
