Yup I do think it should help with pitting. Hopefully will have a good update tomorrow

Update*

I’ve let the film cure for a week since installation and the haze and bubbles have disappeared/ shrunk respectively. Unfortunately, there are still plenty of small spots that are annoying to notice but don’t impair visibility.

Chris at RacingOptics offered a replacement although it’s likely my installation mistake as other members have had better success.

Overall thoughts:

Took a rock on the Manhattan bridge today (35-40 mph) and had no scuffs on the film. Not sure if this will be the case at higher speeds but feel confident they stand behind the product.

Slightly hydrophobic-I’ll still apply rainx or something similar.

Fantastic customer service/response time.

Update - I peeled my first layer off last week after about 18 months. The original one had taken half a dozen hits that I'm pretty sure would have broken the windshield. At least three of them have damage into the second layer (and probably the third). Well worth the $200 investment. I'd get some for my BMW if they made it.

The layer was a lot thicker than I thought. I had let it get significantly pitted and scratched before removing. The 'new' layer looks great, other than the previously mentioned damage.

I'm getting ceramic next week, I'm going to see if it can be applied to the film too.

I am very interested in the theory of this product. I just wonder how well they implemented that theory.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I believe that the material is a clear polyester that absorbs the impact of a rock strike. It definitely helps with that, as well as the constant pitting due to the sandblasting affect we have in this region.

I’ve had this on since last June and it’s held up for 8000 miles. I’m still on my top layer and clarity is still perfectly clear. If anything makes it through the glass I’d definitely buy another set.

The only change I’d request is to make it slightly larger to cover the entire windshield.

I guess I could have added mileage, first layer was 18 months and about 20k miles.

Glad to hear you guys are having good outcomes, I took my first layer off in the fall after around 16-18 months I think it held up well! They definitely don’t go on crystal clear and I think the full cure time is more like a couple weeks in ideal conditions but to me the protection is worth it.

Great to hear the product is holding up. How is it with ice? How do you remove frozen ice on the windshield?

I've used my ice scraper without causing too much scratching. The scratches I have made were from trying to wash the mud/gravel off after hunting.

I’ve used an ice scraper and defroster and it’s worked fine. I can see if the windshield is covered in thick ice and you stab into it it’ll leave scratches or a tear

Was RainX useful? I'm probably going to make a purchase this evening.

When I use my quick detail ceramic spray I also spray the windshield and it helps keep the bugs from sticking(mostly).

People who have been running this, still happy? Went through a couple windshields on my JKUR. AZ is rock central. Not happy that my deductible is $0 for glass replacement down here because that means I'm paying for it in premiums.
