Unfortunately I will not be installing Racing Optics this weekend. This happened on my way home from picking up my wifeās new GC Summit. Someone shot a pellet at me! Scheduled SafeLite to see if I can get it repaired. If not Gorilla Glass here I comeā¦I bought one, and the squeegee was missing. Chris at Racing Optics went over the top and I had a new kit the next day! I will be installing this weekend. Iāll post about when done.
Unfortunately it seems to be a thing in Los Angeles and surrounding areas right now. Jerks with nothing better to do than cause trouble for other people. Oh well, this too shall pass. Fix it, and get on to having fun! That Is all kinds of crazy!!!! A pellet? WTF!
That sucks.Unfortunately I will not be installing Racing Optics this weekend. This happened on my way home from picking up my wifeās new GC Summit. Someone shot a pellet at me! Scheduled SafeLite to see if I can get it repaired. If not Gorilla Glass here I comeā¦
Iāll update when I have more info.
still not sold on the GG yet. have to see what Safelite says tomorrow. At any rate I will be installing the tear offs no matter what I end up with. Iāll post about here as soon as I have a resolution. That sucks.
You still planning on putting the RO on top of the Gorilla Glass? I think it would still be a good idea, since GG isn't bulletproof.
Just ordered a kit myself. Hopefully should be here within the next week.
Yea, that's a bit obnoxious. I have a kit coming and certainly hope it doesn't look like that for long after install or I'd be taking it off. Hopefully it's just a short term thing.Seems a bit better than yesterday for me. Hopefully it cures later today
I have the same exact milky spots...Damn I am so glad you posted!!!! Yeah I think it will dissipate, just glad to see yours is the same.Seems a bit better than yesterday for me. Hopefully it cures later today
Yeah I was thinking the same ! He seems to really stand by the product. Seriously after seeing your pics I instantly felt relieved!! So this is the curing process (much like tinted windows)and the substance will dissipate. We have rain the next few days and I used the wipers today for the first time and all was good. I also feel it was the right purchase and I do think this will help with any errant rocks no matter how small damaging/chipping the windshield. Aside from the spotty residue (that still is curing) it has no negative effect on clarity.Yeah itās not as hot today so Iām guessing itāll take a while longer. Good thing is Chris from racing optics seems like heāll make things right if this doesnāt work out.
