Still happy. Going on year three and I have 2 layers left. I’ll probably buy another set once I’m down to 1.

People who have been running this, still happy? Went through a couple windshields on my JKUR. AZ is rock central. Not happy that my deductible is $0 for glass replacement down here because that means I'm paying for it in premiums.
I'm on my second one and I'm very happy. The first one lasted from August 2020 until September 2023. So on average, each layer lasted 1 year. I'm still running the original windshield from the factory. I've gotten many impacts on the highway over the years and still no damage.

With one layer left I took a pretty good hit this winter and it left a chip. I cut out a small circle and repaired that but I'm pretty sure it would have resulted in a cracked windshield.

I'll be putting on my new set in another month or so.

Just installed. Thought I had all the moisture out until opened up the garage and saw this. Can't get them out at this point so just hoping the cure works through. Looking back, I should have pulled the Jeep out of the garage sooner. The contrast with how bright it is outside relative to the light inside made this a shocker for my wife and I to see. Thought I had a ton of pressure applied.

Notes:
  • My kit did not come with the sticker they recommend putting on the upper driver's side.
  • Used multiple towels (this was helpful for the film)
  • Kept all doors to garage closed

My process
  1. Let film rest on a flat surface for a few weeks (didn't have time to install),
  2. Pressure washed entire Jeep with focus on the windshield,
  3. Removed hydrophobic coating by spraying the windshield with a 50/50 solution of denatured alcohol and water, letting sit for 30 seconds (keep it off your paint if you don't want to lose your coating) and then wiping down thoroughly before repeating 5x (my detailer said I only need 1-2x),
  4. Cleaned with ammonia-free window cleaner 2x,
  5. Cleaned with solution provided by Racing Optics (RO) 2x
  6. Sprayed entire windshield, hood, fenders, and front of roof with the same RO solution from step 5,
  7. Installed with wife (who surprisingly didn't yell at me),
  8. Now anxiously wait to see how it cures. It'll be 110º F out today, but the Jeep is not sitting in direct sunlight.

Not sure if that material is like 3M window tint but I have seen tint look like that right after it was installed. It takes about a week or so to fully dry out. It's clear once it dries out. That is for 3M tint. Hopefully your windshield protection clears up after drying also. Good luck.

How much was the kit? My window tint guy said he would charge me $30 to install it so I will probably go that route if I order the kit.

Same - just unsettling knowing replacement cost here is a bit more than tint :) Fingers crossed!

I spent $246.88 shipped to my door. I think they're based in Las Vegas so short hop to AZ. Assuming the bubbles work out, I'm excited about this film. If I have to replace it I probably will. Losing a windshield on an overland trip..sucks.

Any updates to the install? Did those spots go away? Thanks for sharing.

I just took my 3rd layer off. Installed Fall of 2022. I actually thought I had one layer left, otherwise I would have left it until I got another one.
If you get bubbles, I used very low heat to work them out. I had a big bubble that would not go away. I poked it with a needle which mad it worse. But then squirt super glue into the air pocket and that fixed the big air bubble.
Anyone have a Discount Code?
