Here you go. Very faint serial number on all the windows to discourage theft. They did the same to my order. I was pissed but in the end it wasn’t a deal breaker and there was ultimately no charge.
Some dealers apparently do it to all the vehicles they sell. Just another financial manager scam in my opinion.

Some try to charge for it, like nitro in the tires and tracking...

In some states you can get a discount on your auto insurance for having that on your vehicle. Might end up saving you some money in the long run.

They etched some bullshit numbers on mine that mean nothing, not tied to the VIN at all, just random numbers and an 800 phone number. Told them I wasn't buying that or the nitro in the tires. They actually took the nitrogen out of my tires. Oh, and that silly GPS tracking thing. I was about to walk and they struck that stuff off. I was suprised that hey actually recovered/replaced the nitrogen and removed the tracking thing. All of that crap was already done at the dealer, as I bought mine from dealer stock back when you could actually do so.

Find a bitchin’ decal and slap it over that back one if you want?

The other windows, yeah it’s annoying, but it’s also pretty common. My main complaint is that once you break a window (windshield most likely) it’ll be obvious to everyone who notices it’s the only one that isn’t etched.

I doubt they took the nitrogen out of the tires. The whole nitrogen thing is the biggest scam since the pet rock.

The air we breathe is almost 80% nitrogen.

The first time I saw the green valve stem caps and heard the nitrogen sales pitch I burst into laughter. I thought the guy was kidding. As it turns out, some people will buy anything if you can tell them it’s better with a straight face.

I guess having the dealer etch the windows with a tiny useless number is better than having a dealer use pop-rivets to secure their dealer placard to your tailgate. I’ve seen several dealers in Texas do that.

The Ford dealer that sold me my Raptor stuck a big plastic dealership tag on the back of the tailgate. It took five minutes with a heat gun and some acetone to remove it and all the adhesives.

This is a good reminder to put bold language on the order sheet specifying that none of this crap will be attached to your new vehicle or, if it is, the dealer will pay to remove/undo it.

Oh, and cops are the ones recovering the vast majority of stolen vehicles that are recovered. For cops, it’s all about the VIN. I’ve never met anybody who bothered with numbers etched into the glass, because we can almost always find a VIN. Numbers etched by some dealer would be next to useless during the initial identification and recovery anyway, because the numbers won’t be searchable in our database.

Something dumb and minor like that would really grind at my OCD over time. I can understand a dealership wanting to do shit like this to their own cars on their lot, but any customer's factory order absolutely should not have decals, window etching or anything else added (regardless if it's 'free' or not), at least without asking the customer's permission first. License plate frames, keychains or even a removable window cling is more than enough extraneous crap imo.

The other thing I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE is putting your dealer name on MY JEEP. That will be removed or I will not buy. Simple as that. I hate the dealer stickers on cars. I also take their license plate advertisement off. Want to pay me 200 a month to keep your name on my car ok, otherwise DO NOT put a dealer sticker on my car. Hate that.

Agree 10000 percent especially dealer advertisement. That is a NO SALE to me.

My gripe is the dealer logo/name advertising placed ON the vehicle (Rear)...dealer branded license plate frame...no big deal...trash anyway but branding my vehicle...I always demand the remove it during the delivery prep...I tell them I'll be charging them a $250 monthly advertising fee if they leave it...lol

Retired and loving it.
My 2007 Tacoma has the windows etched and it was included in the dealer prep but when I objected they didn't charge me for it. Or so they said, I'm sure somehow they screwed me around and I paid for it.

But my auto insurance, ALFA, gave me a discount for having it so maybe it worked out.
