Would that make my Jeep part Bronco? 🤔
Well it's really just an industrial solenoid but us old car guys are most familiar with Fords having the solenoid off the starter where as Chevys had it integral to the starter.

I made my own bracket too but mine just ended up being a flat plate with no angle to it. I have the diesel so the battery and fuse box are in different locations making it a bit tighter.

Yeah, I grew up with muscle cars in my life. I'm not the youngest of people here sadly. I worked on my brothers 71 Mach 1 and I had a 68 Chevelle so I'm familiar with the starters on both along with Dodges awful starter relay that was on the firewall.

The Warn power interrupt kit is well worth the $90. Not only does it include a properly rated solenoid, but also the positive battery jumper cable, the smaller gage positive kicker wire that gets spliced to the aux switch, the smaller gage ground wire, and all the appropriate sized insulator caps for the solenoid terminals.

Just got everything about in, I got a solenoid to do the stock aux switch but I need to make the bracket, too cold right now to paint so I will add the bracket and solenoid once the weather gets a little better. Looking to do the install tomorrow and prep everything tonight.

How many amps does the solenoid need from the power switch or which aux dash switch should I use?

If you go with a solenoid, make sure it's rated for the load of the winch. Someone said 350+ amps. I'd put a 400-500 amp solenoid on it. Same with a battery disconnect switch. The Blue Sea stuff I have is 200 amp rated.

I was thinking that a fuse in line with the cable should work. BF2 MEGA® Fuses (delcity.net)

I definitely wouldn't want a battery sized cable turning the color of the sun under my hood. Pretty much guarantees a fire.
